After a little hiatus we’re back with another addition to our mix series courtesy of Behrang Mohammadi, who you may remember playing with us at Frappant in late-2019. The Malmö raised and Berlin-based Swedish-Iranian DJ serves you a seamlessly blended cosmic disco selection with a few sprinkles of dissonant weirdness that eventually evolves into faster-paced italo, disco, and synth-pop territory. The complete concert experience. Recorded live in Portugal in 2023, this is the full, uninterrupted one-man-band performance from Paranoid Beer & Records.

This show is an instrumental journey through the two core energies of The Magnetic Brain Band: the heavy, psychedelic funk inspired by Funkadelic, and the vast, atmospheric voyages of space rock and jazz fusion inspired by Pink Floyd and Herbie Hancock. All sounds you hear were created live on a single MIDI guitar, using live looping and a host of effects to build the sound of a full ensemble.

Piers Harrison est un quart de Soft Rocks, co-dirige le label Mysticisms et écrit pour Test Pressing. A l'origine d'un album pour le label ESP Institute avec l'équipe de Soft Rocks, ils ont également fait plusieurs edits et remixes pour les Beautiful Swimmers notamment.
Il a tourné sur tout le globe, en tant que DJ, du fameux Precious Hall à Sapporo au Japon aux teuf hédonistes de 48h à Berlin comme les Cocktails d'Amore.
Obnubilé par la découverte musicale, Piers nous a fait l'honneur de venir partager son sens du dancefloor et ses trouvailles pour une soirée qui fut l'une des plus chaude de l'hiver 2020, à quelques semaines du confinement.

Piers is one quarter of Soft Rocks, co-runs the Mysticisms label and writes for Test Pressing. As part of Soft Rocks he’s recorded an album for ESP Institute, done many edits (that were worth editing) and remixed kindred spirits such as the Beautiful Swimmers. He has DJ’d across the globe from deeply spiritual rooms like Sapporo’s Precious Hall through to hedonistic 48 hour raves in Berlin. It's all driven by the thrill of musical discovery, a journey he hopes will never end.

décadence 001 - Piers Harrison

It’s been a long, lonely winter and it’s just getting started. To help us all along the way here's a monthly mix series featuring DJs who held it down @ the spot. These selectors hauled their bags of wax into the bar and spun their threads of aural fantasy; we really wanna thank them for setting the scene. 

First mix comes care of resident Cam Hildebrandt, known for his perfectly executed sets of trainspotty dub, boogie, house, and ??? that get rooms glowing in Toronto, NYC, and Londontowne. 

Here he ferries us through a corridor of foggy morning soul and dub shot through with tough boogie and quivering synths, opening the window to clarinet and breakbeat strewn dance floor bliss.  

Pop the hatch and climb on in...
