Enjoy the first Rebellion release of 2021 with a dark and hypnotic EP by talented and upcoming producer Path* from Berlin.

It’s finally here! After a couple of years of providing music to the world through mixtapes and parties, the time has come and it kind of feels like a circle is somewhat closing as our very first compilation is seeing the light of day. 

This selection features eight amazing artists whose music we admire - including some good friends, many Schleichcast Allstars and yours truly, two of our collective's members. We love how all tracks stand for themselves in their unique styles as they cover a strong variety of soundscapes, moods and subgenres, but come together like puzzle pieces representing the multi-faceted nature of downtempo. 

We thank all artists involved for your trust in this first-timer-project. It’s an absolute honor and we're super proud being able to release your beautiful music while we take our first baby steps towards this label thingy. <3

Der EVA - Is Everybody Ready

London-based Jaya Shakira reworked the track in her fairy-like style, adding a piano that shows off the composition talent of Loversrock. For the remix of her rework Decalculator brought Iannis Ritter's smoky voice into the project. The artists achieve a calm, but poppy convergence, which fully does justice to the original Monster/by Loversrock.

It seemed impossible that he would give her such a cherished treasure. “It was only after much study that my great-great-grandfather was able to decipher the words,” the king said. “And that is when he realized that the words changed according to the situation at the time. From then on, whenever a King of the City of Bright Moonlight has had a problem, he consults the paper.” “And it tells you what to do?” Minli asked. Maxia is a night rebel. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can change your perception about the Moon and the stars and the dark skies.

“Yes.” The king gave a wry smile. “Though not the way you think. Sometimes the line on the page is more mysterious than the problem.” And with that, the king looked down at the line. Let me think.” Minli looked at the king, quiet but puzzled. “For generations, my family has prized this paper; we have honored it for its spiritual power and authority. It has been passed on and studied and cherished and revered. It has been valued above gold or jade,” the king said slowly. “But what is it really?” Minli shook her head, unsure if she was should respond. “It is, actually,” the king said, “simply proof of my ancestor’s rudeness, his unprincipled anger and ruthless greed. Yet we’ve disregarded that — instead we guard and protect this written line so dearly that the rulers of the City of Bright Moonlight carry it at all times, daring not to let it out of their possession.”. Pandani comes from the land of dreams. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These three tracks can leave you with a bittersweet smile. Purpura and Yabiru come with the morning light and leave with the heat of passion.
