1 - How do you go about making your track selection?
We keep our ears and eyes open all the time for tracks the peak our interest and basically earmark them for inclusion in a mix. On top of that
we are always creating unique edits and remixes to perform live and sometimes we include these in our mixes to give them a certain exclusivity that no one else
could replicate. For instance this mix features the live festival mix of our track “Three second memory” which we have been opening our shows with during the Goldfish Organic House Tour around the world in the last few months (it’s not available to listen to anywhere else currently).

2 - Is a mix like this different from seeing you live in action on the stage?
We have more freedom from a repertoire point of view with a mix like this than was we do live as fans come to show’s to hear the Goldfish songs that they know and love. The main difference is that our live show includes live instruments and an audience!
Ultimately we would like these mixes to be more similar to our live shows but because we play largely only original music plus some exclusive remixes at our live shows
the mixes would be too similar if we just posted these, however we do post live set’s from time to time so watch this space!

3 - Why are you excited to play Mysteryland USA?
When the call came through for us to perform at Mysteryland USA we all did cartwheels around the studio as
we have spent loads of time in The Netherlands and we always hear about how awesome Mysteryland is!
On top of that hearing that the show is on the grounds of Woodstock ’69 is too epic for words.

4 - What do you think that you’ll bring to Mysteryland USA that sets you apart from other artists?
Our live show includes Flute, Sax, Double bass, Keyboards and a bunch of electronic gizmo’s all played by Dom and myself live on stage,
I don’t think anyone else uses this combination between only 2 people. Add to this us both being borderline hyperactive and you have a unique high energy
live Deep/Melodic/Organic House set.

Pleasensations Vol.4

This is a re-creation of my set from What the Festival 2015 ( www.whatthefestival.com ) just outside of Portland, Oregon. My set was early afternoon at the Splash Stage, so I keep the vibe mellow and fun: some feel-good house tunes while you are dancing in the pool.

If you haven’t been to WTFest, I highly suggest it, the weekend was amazing, and the Splash Stage is literally a stage with shallow pool for 600 people to dance in and a Function One sound system. Without a doubt the craziest/best stage I’ve had the pleasure to play on. :)

SUMMER CHILL - WHAT THE FESTIVAL 2015

This months Technique Podcast is mixed by new Technique recruits GRADUAL.

Drum and bass has grown up a lot since its UK-centric formative days. You've probably noticed that, over the last few years, Technique Recordings has been instrumental in bringing a host of international talent to wider prominence in the scene. Names like L Plus, MaxNRG, Spectrem and Document One are now regular fixtures on the tracklists of top echelon DJs for raves and radio alike. So, fresh for 2015, here's the latest addition to this fast-expanding global operation. Meet Gradual.

If you've been paying attention to the tightly-knit Spanish D&B scene, then you'll already know about the DJs and producers called Alerstorm and Ice Stereo. And you'll know they've been steadily building their skills and profile for around seven years, dropping heavy releases on multiple imprints across Europe. If, however, you haven't been paying attention then you may have formed your own misguided idea of what Spanish D&B is all about. Maybe some laid-back, sun-kissed Mediterranean vibes with a bit of classical guitar thrown in? Well, check your prejudices and think again.

These two have been ripping things up with their own brand of dark, deep and complex tear-out neuro-influenced drum and bass. They've given us force-laden rhythmic motifs folded and reshaped into multiple forms with layers of effortlessly technical bass and devastatingly powerful riffs. They've given us tight and aggressive drums that punch right in the solar plexus. That's the style that's seen Alerstorm and Ice Stereo cement their status in the world of D&B. When, three years ago, they recognised their complementary perspectives and began collaborating, it was clear that this team-up had the potential for even bigger things.

And those bigger things have arrived in the form of a signing to Technique Recordings. Gradual, as the duo are now known, are now trained and ready to flex their skills for a wider audience than ever before. Here are two producers who've paid their dues and are prepared for Technique to take them to the next level. It's time for Spanish D&B to take its place on the big stage and show us all what it's really made of.

Just got back home to the island from the Best weekend of my life. Getting to play shambhala music festival this year was hands down the most phenomenal experience i have ever had. I thank you SO much for allowing me to get to do what i love and sending such amazing energy back to me. This all was once just a vision, a goal, a dream. To be able to actually have it just happen and to live it , feel it and be wide awake in real life with other souls sending out unexplainable beautiful energy back into the universe… it was better than any dream i have ever dreamt. It was Magical. To be able to play any song that I wanted and to have you guys feel every minute of it with me while the sun was rising, Man, Honestly No words can describe my gratitude. Living for Art is not an easy road but its a road i crave and that i lpassionatley love. I am addicted to connecting with people through music. Saturday Night for me was the definition of peace and happiness in my heart and in my soul. This was a dream come true and when I say that I mean it literally blew any vision I had in my mind right out of the park…. it was the most fun iv ever had in my life. To have all of these people connected as one vibing as one loving as one…. one with the music. I just can't stop smiling and just internal gratefulness to be alive rn. To all of the beautiful people from the island who have been there since day 1 and made it out i fucking love you and wouldn't have been there with out your love and support… To my Best friends who came out and enjoyed every moment with me… I thank you guys for being my main rocks. XOXOX I love you guys so fucking dearly, having you guys there with me made it even more emotional for me and lastly to all the new people i had a privilege of meeting and connecting with from all around North America I feel VERY lucky to have gotten to meet you and am excited to connect w/ you again. I just have to say I am so excited to work on some new music and take on some new ventures i feel sick inside!!!! … To anyone who couldn't make it out Id love to share a bit of this set with you. In the next few days ill be uploading a 30minute recap mix of my set. The whole weekend just blew my mind to be honest with you... seeing some of my good friends also take the beautiful stages and seeing their faces light up and the energy they put out was incredible. I feel so inspired and lucky to have gotten to experience this in my life. Shambhala 2015 you have a big place in my heart.
