What a treat... Token Records boss Kr!z delivers and impressive and captivating 62-track mix for this week's GVR episode.

Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more gloomy, dark, rawer sound of techno. Artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon & James Ruskin had a major influence on him in the 90s. They helped to define his musical taste and develop his own identity in the Techno scene. Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-DJ for Belgium’ s legendary techno night ‘Kozzmozz’, his DJ-schedule now takes him all over the world.

In 2007, Kr!z felt there was too much good music around from his favourite artists that didn’t get a proper release, so he started his own label ‘@tokenrecords’. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value in the Techno scene of today by bringing a timeless & powerful sound. In the years of its existence Token released tracks & remixes from Inigo Kennedy , Ø [Phase], Luke Slater , James Ruskin, Marcel Dettmann, Blawan, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Xhin, Sigha & Peter van Hoesen, amongst many others.

Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. 

His faith based music production has landed him numerous vinyl releases (EP's, LP's, and remixes) on labels like Planet-e, Rekids, FXHE, Echocord, Kontra-Musik, Dolly, Finale Sessions, Ornaments, and Prime Numbers among others. His debut album was
released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label Echocord.

 In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs. His sophomore
album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor. 

With 20 years of DJ experience, he is regarded as a perfectionist behind the decks layering his tracks in a very detailed and hypnotic manner. Luke has played at many notable venues and festivals in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America including numerous appearances at the illustrious Berghain/Panoramabar in Berlin. Luke’s continued hard work in the studio and as a music collector/curator combined with his unyielding interest in technology and sound will no doubt stimulate the boundaries of electronic music.

He has released music on labels such as Dig Curated, WSNWG, FLOAT, INGUMA, OECUS, and CANTICLE, showcasing his depth and intensity as a producer. His performances have left a strong impression at venues like BASSIANI, Radion, Jasna1 & Fvtvr - just to name a few. Uväll is also a co-founder of the event series called FACTION, where he continues to explore and contribute to the techno music scene with a deep-rooted passion for electronic music.

Raised in Bristol, Jack Wallis’ earliest musical influences were shaped by dubstep, punk, and UK techno, shown by his early releases on Darwin’s label SPE:C. Following his move to Berlin in 2017, he and The Lady Machine established Unterwegs, an imprint to release music from like-minded talents, including Decka's pressurized, raw, and driving techno productions.

Since then, he has released on top-tier labels such as KEY Vinyl, AMTK+, Tar Hallow and Token. Pushing the boundaries of modern-day techno, the quality of his music is consistently recognized with multiple sold-out releases and a growing portfolio of remix commissions for esteemed artists such as Dubfire and Dimi Angelis. He now runs a second label with artist Roseen - Frameworks - where the duo released their debut album “Imaginary Places” in 2023. In September 2024, Decka released his first solo full-length LP "Exit" on Tar Hallow.

His fervent love for analog in the studio translates behind decks. DJ’ing only with vinyl since the beginning of his career, Decka’s sets not only highlight his clear-cut technique but are filled with moments of suspense and tension amidst high-octane energy, drawing on his extensive knowledge of techno, never limiting himself to just one style.
