Circle of life

Note on this Study: This piece represents an experiment in extreme polyphonic density. In aiming to capture the chaotic wall of sound found in the dawn chorus (using multiple woodwinds, piano, and string divisions), the accumulation of sustained resonance pushed the Yamaha Genos II keyboard engine (attached to a customised triple felted hammer-action Roland RD600 acting as MIDI master) to its theoretical ceiling. The occasional 'flamming' heard here is not an error of performance, but the sound of the digital engine reaching its absolute event horizon under the weight of attempted texture. 384 note polyphony may seem a lot, but when notes are sustained, your polyphonic budget rapidly disappears. I need a bigger boat.

Mosaic Loops is my second Ep
with field recording and computer-processed instrument loops (Mélodica, Xaphoon, Guitars and Analog Synthesizer...) I created 4 tracks which evoke different subject : the multicultural atmosphere of big cities, a beautiful starry night, and John Coltrane in Japan for the first 3 titles. The fourth title is an imaginary character Sorina, a Roma woman who symbolizes the courage of these reel women in the face of the harshness of life.

The battle is over. Few are left standing, but humanity has won. The young man is mortally injured. In his final moments, the young man can't help but feel melancholy. He wishes he could reverse time to stop himself from ever entering Omega City, but the past is the past. Letting go, he hopes future generations will learn from his mistakes and live for themselves, making the world a better place.
