Jamie Edwards a.k.a. WinDem was born in Brooklyn N.Y. Up until the age of 6 WinDem grew up in Flatbush, then later on he moved to Jamaica to live I the parish of St. Thomas. 
It was there the singer learned about reggae culture. WinDem was influenced by many music artist, such as Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, Sizzler, Bob Marley, and others alike. 
Later on when the young artist turn 16 he came back to Brooklyn and found R&B music. He took his knowledge of reggae put it with his new found love of R&B and came up with an explosive new sound. He used his talent and took it to the stage, competing, and winning competitions, performing at clubs and exciting crowds. 
It was with his love of music he built a fan base in hopes of one day being signed to a huge record label and spreading his sound all over the world.
