[Suara 193] Miguel Bastida - Soul Reactions (Original Mix)

The creator of some of the freshest sounds in techno music in recent years, Ramon Tapia, is once again pushing the envelope with his new double-header for John Digweed’s forward-thinking Bedrock label.

‘Hysteria’ exhibits mountainous energetic menace with its elongated rumbling sub-bass hum and whip-snap percussion build, before launching into mind-melting melodic flourishes and an intense groove finale. Adding to the excitement, ‘Intricate’ features a classic Ramon Tapia percussion-led gem of a groove that expands with filmic flourishes and twists a plenty, resulting in yet another beautifully crafted piece of music. 

Ramon Tapia’s skill as he blends the slower, sexier sounds of the contemporary techno vibe with his deep understanding of the genre from the past few decades is what sets him apart from many other producers. With tinges of his Latin background influencing percussive elements and his Dutch/Belgian heritage providing the basis for his hard-grooving template, his sound is one of the freshest of recent years.

'Havana' (BEDDIGI51), the Ramon Tapia & Stavroz collaboration from last summer (with that deadly trumpet hook), remains a firm favourite in many DJ sets today. It was recently revived with a superb remix by Guy J and featured on the new ‘Underground Sound Of Ibiza 2’ (BEDIBIZACD2) compilation. Both tracks are well worth checking.

It is time for Greek Techno legionnaire Christian Cambas to make his Pornographic debut and he has brought two distinct flavors to the table in this EP.&nbsp; The title track is a total curveball, bringing cut-up MC snippets to the forefront and letting a stomping drumset pave the way to mass infection.&nbsp; Things are very different on &#8220;Multiple Truths&#8221;, where a haunting riff emerges through layers of distortion and manipulated percussion, as the steamroller that is the rhythm section rattles every ribcage in sight.

Teoss teams up with Lunatique Sublime.. The results = Carcass…

Carcass is a great flowing techno number with a superb quality vocal that permeates though the entire track. Reminds me a little of the progressive house I used to make 10 years ago, now in an updated 2015 techno style. Great noises and excellent production. Obviously good enough to make it to a Yin yang release. GREAT STUFF.. 

SUPERB remixes from:-

Klangsturz. This guy is making some great stuff.. He takes the vocals and sounds and makes in his own unique sounds. Top stuff. BOOM.. Love it.

Benou. Holy shit.. This guy is on fire. Techno meets electro funk. Obviously more on the techno tip. But wow. This guys production skills are through the roof. This is sure to FLY up the charts in any stores. Amazing. I played this out to GREAT APPLAUSE!

Lastly is the Mental Drops remix. This guy is blowing up South America with his great Yin Yang vibe. This remix is more on the funky techno tip. What a great remix it is. Check out that breakdown. Huge!
