DJ Basic is now for more than 25 years behind the decks and thus a true scene soldier, who has been playing and making Drum&Bass known in the Rhineland from the very beginning. His DJ career began in 1994 in the Cologne-Bonn area and since 2015 he has also been successfully producing his own tracks. His first releases came out in 2017 on SRBE (Berlin), another 'We were in the Dark' followed on the Cologne label Storno Beats. At the beginning of 2019 another track on Hanzom Music (Cologne). His rolling basslines and deep, innovative sounds that mix old and new are very characteristic and are reflected in his own productions.
Kingsley Obeng aka Kingz lived in England from 1982 to 1996, witnessing the creation and development of Drum and Bass. His first production was with Nico from ‚No U turn records‘ in 1995, which encouraged him to buy his own sampler to produce himself. Numerous productions and MCing with Basswerk until 2002 followed. After a long break from the scene, a reunion with Heiner (TGM) for a release in 2016 developed into an album release in 2019. 
"Your special" with DJ Basic, follows a Collab release with DJ Basic and Nusonix "Dreams" also released on Deegree Recordings.  
Cool Running, with its somewhat dark structure, also encourages you to bounce and let yourself sink into the music between driving synth elements.

emplate first heard the sounds of Jungle/Drum & Bass in the summer of '96 and was instantly enchanted. A drummer, and heavily influenced by hip hop, metal, industrial, classical and jazz; emplate believes drum and bass embodies everything he had been listening to and loved before it.

In '99 he knew that listening was not enough. He needed more than mixtapes and parties to get his fix. Inspired by the DJs around him and his love for DnB, he dedicated himself to seeking knowledge, selection and skill. emplate soon became respected both technically and for his sets that interweave neurofunk and darker, minimal DNB tunes that are often peppered with liquid dancefloor tracks if the mood is right.

In 2006, emplate became a resident DJ at the former weekly and nationally recognized DnB event "in:verse". Always interested in moving the scene forward, emplate helped develop The Cleveland Drum n Bass Coalition and (216)BASS, both local platforms that Northeast Ohio DnB heads used as a vehicle to further their careers. In August of 2014, emplate joined up with Rockers Music. Excited about having a DnB label out of Cleveland, emplate spearheaded the local launch of the Rockers 175 label with the “Step Inside” & "Kismet" monthly events held at the Beachland Ballroom, bringing in names such as: Lenzman, Doc Scott, Total Science, Zero T, The Prototypes, Crissy Criss, DJ SS, Aphrodite, Dara, AK1200, Dieselboy & more. After stepping away from the label & the turbulent life of event promotions, he focused on being the best DJ he could be...taking his mixing to new levels & determined to prove that he's underrated, not only in his hometown & state, but the U.S. as a whole.

For two decades, emplate has been known for his diverse selection of up to date releases, promos & unreleased tracks & plays accordingly to timeslot, crowd & vibe.

Deegree Recordings was founded as a collective of 5 ambitioned DJs and producers. Between them, DJ Basic, Mendax, Marvel Cinema, Matt View and Philo have previously released on Technique, Fokuz, Grid Recordings and Soulvent before starting up their own label. The five talents can be found DJing, producing and hosting the monthly Deegree radio show on 674fm, hosted by DJ Basic and the Deegree Recordings Show on jungletrain.net every second wednesday from 10:30pm (CET ), hosted by Philo, and even launched their first club night with Hospital Records favourites Pola & Bryson and Whiney back in February 2020. 
Now a whole year deep into the game, Deegree Recordings is celebrating its first anniversary with a whopping ten-track compilation of new heaters from its founders and friends, aptly titled 1 YEAR DEEGREE RECORDINGS out on March 1.
