It's been 6 years since I last put a mix out and didn't imagine I'd be here again but sometimes the most unexpected changes are the best.

Feels really great to be writing new rhymes again, working on my performances, and for the first time I've mixed the tracks for this too so this is exactly my style... upfront, trancy UK Hardcore.

WTTJ 2019 - DJ INSTIGATE & MC 3MAN (Live Hardstyle Set)

A minimal Hardcore mix from my formative years made from tracks that i had to dig deep for and record from my vinyl collection, all tracks that defined the era for me, and importantly rarely ever get played out. The mix is mostly constructed with techy tracks with few vocals, compensated for with some experimental transitions thrown in there to ensure a fast paced and energetic vibe.

There were a few mistakes in the mix, but i decided to put it out warts and all, heartfelt and raw, just like the tracks found within.

We have made it halfway through Season One, we have hit Episode six! What a year 2020 has been, musically we have become more connected, but the Coronavirus situation leaves a deeply concerning and uncertain future for people whose sole source of income is from the music industry. Thankfully in the UK there is a rescue package incoming for the arts, hopefully this will keep our favourite venues open, and allow continuity for the industry until which time promoters, venues, and party people can come together in perfect harmony.

This is the second episode since we changed the format of the podcast, introducing an alternating monthly trancier episode and a harder episode. You know what that means…. It is time to get HARD!!!

Our harder episode is set to satisfy those that like it harder, faster, and those kicks crunchier. We have for you a killer array representing the very best tracks across Hardstyle, UK Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, & European Hardcore. Not only that we catch up for a good old chin wag with the North-West and 24/7 Hardcore badman Fitzy K who supplies us with a fast paced and energetic UK Hardcore / Makina set, which in his own words is “fast, hard, dirty, and cheesey”. He gives us a history lesson in the origins of Makina, and what makes the North West rave scene so unique.

We also invite Fitzy-K to select a track for both room 101 and 909, a blues track and a track by Hixxy, but which room matches what song? Listen to find out.

We also give a shout out to some of the notable lives streams that have been happening, including the “Xtreme – The Hardstyle Reunion” live stream event which B2BK are supporting on the 12th Jul 2020, and a actual real event scheduled in for the 4th December 2020, which is of course Adrenaline Stompers where you can catch both IDK and Ectomorph playing the very best in hard music. Cannot wait for that one!

Since learning to mix in early 2011 Instigate quickly found he had a natural talent for dj'ing. With his passion for music and his desire to be the best of his ability he is still pushing himself to this day and making exceptional progress. Many say he has a unique style of quick technical mixing, performing live mash-ups, use of effects and his ability to play competently on three and four decks.
