Lloyd Phamela Hlungwani (23) founder and managing Director of Housemonkey Music was born and Bred in a remote town (Malamulele) located in the Northern part of the Kruger National Park in Limpopo.
Having been raised in a Family made up of music lovers Lloyd also known as Little-P had an ear for sound and music at a very young and tender age which led to him falling in love with Music in general. Lloyd has chosen to listen to his musical instincts and focused on learning how to utilize virtual software to craft and pioneer the sounds he had in his mind into a fully recorded song, fortunate enough he had the support from his older brother (Tiyani Hlungwani) who was so into music production and still prevails to date.
After some time learning and understanding how to use virtual software to create and pioneer his sounds into a song, Lloyd decided to venture into the industry and by so doing he landed himself a Distribution deal with one of Durban’s upcoming Digital record label AKANUZ CREATIONS owned and Managed by Jonny Mthembu and that was in June 2013-June-2014. This brought along so much luck due to the fact that house music lovers embraced his sounds, it earned him Radio slots in terms of having his first released extended play album(THE MUSIC IN ME EP) featured in radio shows by GIANI AGOSTO and musicians such as Dj Shimmy Boy, Dj Malextronix Deepsoul, Dj Russel Greenjust to mention a few.
As for a fact Lloyd never got satisfied with all this, through the experience and knowledge obtained through AKANUZ CREATIONS he ventured deep into the music industry and created relationships with international Dj’s and Producers as well as Radio presenters such as (Sean Conrad [Managing director at Urban Radio Australia]), which led him to unlocking his true potential In terms of music production.
To date Lloyd has now started his own movement (Housemonkey Music), a digital record label in partnership with Symphonic Distribution, signed himself as the first artist to release under the label. First release scheduled to be in stores on the 18th December 2015 titled(Deep In Africa) a two track(s) extended play album and a single titled(Those Days) Scheduled to be released next year 05th January 2016.
Throughout his years Lloyd has always wanted to share his crafts with the world and through the motivation and inspirations he got from people like (Black Coffee, Culoe De Song, Dj Christos, Dj Iggy Smallz, Monde, and Heavy Dee Crew (45bpm), Dj Zakes not forgetting the late Dj and Radio presenter KHABZELA. His goal was easy to achieve, and still is longing for more. Lloyd plans to use his knowledge and skills to uplift and groom young gifted and talented musicians/Dj’s and composers, that’s his life term goal.
