Aurical EP is AtYyA’s first auditory foray in 2015, following an array of acclaimed releases in 2014. With each track featuring shimmering synths, sparkling keys, & delicate melodies, all carefully harmonically tuned, Aurical is another example from AtYyA on how to redefine 808 music as we know it. AURICAL EP will be released on February 9th, 2015 under the mighty Merkaba Music. Keep an eye out for an upcoming spring tour and a debut album in 2015!

Minneapolis-based producer and vocalist Megan Hamilton fulfills her mantra of “causing funky riots and catchy house tunes” with her newest EP, Feed the Animals, out now on Gravitas Recordings. This latest offering delivers an amalgam of Megan’s two biggest influences, midtempo glitch hop and house music. Feed the Animals was inspired to bridge the gap between her influences and previous works to produce a polished extension of her current brand and sound. The four-track EP feature musicality and melody that simultaneously uphold the minimalism of house and contemporary weird sound designs.

A soothing music box commences “Cosmic Soup,” with a groovy soundscape and piano break that segues into progressive house and oscillating wubs. Featuring Freez, “Crash” incorporates funk and hip-hop with instrumental elements that spirals into a captivating, hypnotic techno sound design. Mesmerizing vocals in “Doin What I Want” bewitch listeners in a spellbinding enchantment that advances the techno wave. “Forbidden” prolongs the trance by consolidating Megan’s mystifying and melodic vocals with a bass house kick that supplies a satisfying conclusion to the EP.

Gravitas Recordings is pleased to release Circulate Vol. 1, a global bass compilation curated by David Starfire and SOOHAN. This compilation boasts an impressive roster full of original tracks, remixes, and collaborations with eclectic artists such as Kaya Project, An-ten-nae, Desert Dwellers, Beats Antique, and CloZee, to name a few. Circulate was created in support of Beyond the Grade, a grassroots 501(c)3 not-for-profit Austin-based charity that provides after school music education for underserved children. 

Over the years, Austin musicians have donated their time to Beyond the Grade in teaching various programs, camps, and classes such as beats, live performance, drum kits, keyboard/piano, and guitars. Music is proven to positively increase people’s happiness, learning, and creativity; however, many schools are not able to fund music education. David Starfire and SOOHAN understand first-hand how beneficial it can be towards cognitive development and self-esteem in children, and they are excited to spread Beyond the Grade’s mission among the electronic music community through Circulate.

Another mission of Circulate was to advocate the global bass music community that is growing around the world. This compilation spotlights different sounds and features artists from around the United States, Finland, Ghana, Canada, Hungary, Angola, Poland, France, the UK, and more who contribute to create cutting-edge music that is a fusion of traditional cultural music mixed with modern beats, bass, and rhythms. There is a movement in music with different cultures coming together musically with dance music, as dance crosses all languages and is a language of its own to be understood universally. From celebrations to rituals, dance brings people together. With the internet, anyone can listen to music from another culture and fuse it with dance music to create a unique version to share with others. This global bass compilation was created with the understanding that people are interested in being educated about music from around the world and hearing sounds that are outside of the norm. Beyond the Grade was the perfect charity to partner with for this compilation, and 100% of net proceeds will be donated to assist in “keeping music alive in Austin schools.”

Adam Brubaker, known artistically as DeemZoo, is a classically trained musician and electronic producer with over twenty years of musical experience, including more than a decade specializing in music production and audio engineering. Rooted primarily in psychedelic bass, his sound confidently expands into downtempo and freeform bass territories.

Drawing inspiration from the primal and natural world, DeemZoo’s music merges organic textures with innovative digital techniques, creating immersive soundscapes marked by intricate layering and dynamic shifts. His compositions resonate with a raw, untamed energy, capturing both the beauty and unpredictability of nature.

DeemZoo has made notable appearances at major festivals including Tipper and Friends, Infrasound, Sound Haven, Ohm On The Range, Beyond Existence, Fam Fest, and Autumn Revival. His performances are celebrated for their creativity and dynamic presence, solidifying his standing as a distinctive voice in the electronic music community.
