Athens based artist Analog Trip (Kosmas Katimertzis, born 1972) Is owner of Elektrik Dreams Music Label ( www.elektrikdreamsmusic.com ) At the early age of 17 the young artist experimented with monophonic analog synthesizers, drumcomputers and vinyl , playing at local bars, and while studying at university a few years later, he became part of an Electro group called VCF, already known for their live gigs at Athens popular clubs Factory, DOM and the Wild Rose.Officially entered in the electronic scene in 1996 along with George Moog with a CD which was circulated 25.000 times by a for that period well known Dance magazin (Lemon). Since this success, which included airplay on CoolFm and LifeFm , Klik FM, Best Radio Analog Trip was referenced among many Greek artist and invited to play his sets on various old classic dance floors like Plan B, Face the music, Camel Club,Astron, Orbit, Zoo, Loop (Resident for 8 continious years) and Mommys.In the summer the artist also appeared on Paros and Naxos, Monastiri, Linardo, Santa Maria and Cafe Del Mar , Splash Naxos and among others to promote his music.Recently Analog Trip's music appeared on Gravity Recordings, featuring "Galeraki Mykonos Chillout Moods and Grooves", next to "Cafe Caprice", a more atmospheric style but none the less accompanied with his own freestyle/tribal/deep and tech sound.Has worked with artists as Nikos Diamantopoulos, Blend Mishkin, Addex, Big Al, Rishi K., George Apergis, Ilias Katelanos, Leo Mars and other.Has played in various festival as European Music Day and many other.In 2008 created his own record label called Elektrik Dreams Music and released several remixes on labels as Ready Mix , Blue Orb, Night Child, Family Grooves, Dark Pleasure , Klik and Ambiosphere

Inspired by the sounds of Doctor Dru, The Mekanism, Hot Since 82, Larse and Pete Oak, https://soundcloud.com/shimmermusic is working his way up at the moment. Producing for 3 years now he is growing and making new music with Sivesgaard and Marco Darko. Next to dj’ing and producing he is also A&R Manager for the upcoming label from dutch organization Pleinvrees, who is also part of the collaboration project DGTL with Straf_werk. The Record label is called Pleinvrees Records and will start off with an EP from Robin Schulz.

Shimmer has some cool gigs to look forward to the coming months in Kiev, Paris, London and Aalborg. This Friday he plays in Zurich at Club Bellevue. Some more stuff is coming soon for Shimmer but that can’t be announced just yet. For now enjoy his fresh mix and check him out soon at one of his gigs.

They will also perform a day earlier at Unconditional alongside Wildkats, Nhan Solo and the rapidly rising duo Cleavage at BARKODE, which will be an amazing way to start your ADE.

The Hypercolour train picks up yet more steam with their next release, a double A side from Maxxi Soundsystem Featuring Name One on vocal duties and legendary sonic inventor Matthew Herbert in the remix role. Brighton based beatsmith Maxxi Soundsystem has risen to the top of the pile in recent months with heartfelt jams for Needwant and Futureboogie all fusing uplifting melodies with melancholic beats. 

And it’s a similar MO on this unassumingly anthemic new track, ‘Regrets We Have No Use For.’ Characterised by a wavy, frayed synth line that grows louder then quieter in the mix, soft shakers bring some wiggle whilst the breathy voice of Name One floats up above. It’s charming and sultry, slowly working its way under your skin at the same time as making you dance all under pinned by a monstrous, all consuming and grumbling bass line that makes your chest throb and head bob. 

Found sound innovator and general all round music chief Matthew Herbert goes for a much less soupy sound on his remix. The beats here are less smooth and more splintered, propping up the now distant, filtered vocal that drifts in and out of focus. Of course, the background synth are now much more unhinged and trippy in Herbert’s hands, with the resulting effect one suited to darkened back rooms in the dead of night. 

As ever, an unpredictable release from Hypercolour but that sounds as unique as anything the label has offered up in the past.
