Extreme Trax - Final Fantasy (CARAVEL EDIT)

Charlotte de Witte & Enrico Sangiuliano have come together to serve up a very personal remix of the hugely influential self-titled classic by Age Of Love. It lands on the original Belgian label Diki Records on August 13th.

Age Of Love wrote and released their most iconic track in 1990. It went on to become a stone-cold dance classic that inspired a whole trance movement that has endured throughout the years. 

The idea to remix 'Age Of Love' started taking shape when KNTXT boss Charlotte was in lockdown with esteemed Italian techno artist Enrico at the end of February last year. As soon as the track was finished, it was played in several live streams and the online community quickly fell in love. The remix bears all the hallmarks of both producers, who between them have a number of Beatport hits and have crafted everything from the darkest drums to the most emotional synths to great effect.

Say Charlotte and Enrico, "It's a very meaningful track for both of us, for various reasons, and it brings back many joyful memories. Remixing such a legendary track was a super fun thing to do, but we noticed how easily and spontaneously we could work together in the studio. We are beyond excited to finally unleash our remix to the world. And this at a time where the world finally seems to be going back to normal. There is no better time for a New Age Of Love. We're ready."

'Age Of Love' (Charlotte de Witte & Enrico Sangiuliano Remix) is a big, driving techno roller. It has heavyweight drums and stripped back percussion which leaves plenty of room for the ionic synth lead and spine-tingling vocals to ring out and really work the crowd into a trance. 

This fantastic remix brings a new perspective to one of dance music's most celebrated and influential tracks.

The EP was born with the idea of resuming the Groove of the 90s with more current drums and using more accentuated melodies, usually present in melodic techno sounds and not properly used for hard techno, accompanied by important kicks. What came out is a mix of emotional grooves, heavy kicks and sounds that recall the past but that make you feel a contemporary melodic.
Listening begins relentlessly, direct like a blade. Feel this constant rising, rising and then falling, waiting for something. The blade that enters you, comes out again and then re-enters. That something that will arrive, will arrive soon. It explodes in a moment of pure ecstasy, devastating like a storm, full of emotions and pure energy, which will leave no room for anything, if not a nostalgic sense, upset by hard and unforgettable sounds and glimpses of hope. Alex Bilancini - No Trust No Love [GENX-D001]

Deep Dimension’s productions are voracious. Like heavy sonic artillery assaulting through blasting speakers, backed by punching kick drums. Searching for the essence of the 90s rave-scene, he interprets it by stripping it bare, creating an idiomatic formula for the present-day techno.

Discovering music through his dad’s record collection as a child, Jeffrey Hek started producing under the moniker Deep Dimension in 2015. Hek describes a pivotal point when realizing he searched for something non-existing in the music he played, concluding it was time to fill the gap himself. Having already played Exhale at Awakenings and Nature One, it is obvious he did the right thing. Ravey acid-stabs, twisted vocals and raw old school-samples are all ingredients he uses to conjure up the invasive, robust Deep Dimension-sound. After debuting on Rekids in 2018, he has further released on labels like Etruria, Planet Rhythm and Suara. A handful of Deep Dimension EP’s are available via Hek’s own imprint, GEN X, which also expands into other industry talents he respects and admires.

Naturally, the GEN X-style informs and flows through his DJ-sets too - as he likes to declare: “Techno, Acid, Rave - is what I stand for”. DJing since the mid 1990s, Deep Dimension is well experienced behind the decks, serving a flawless selection with the mission of pushing people’s energy further. He selects contemporary tracks capturing the feeling of the Dutch hard house- and techno-scene from the 90s, while at the same time breathing new life into classic gems he loved getting lost into during that era. Gabber and trance are always in the mix to create an uninhibited stomping trip, but you also find subtle elements of deeper progressive influences, creating a distinguished and fresh concept. Whatever you are looking for, you can rest assured - Deep Dimension will offer some real bang for your buck.
