Sossa maintains his residency at Ibizan staple DC10 and continues to tour the world with the crazy circus all year round. Sossa’s new label Garbant Wave continues to impress with lots of original productions getting airtime and top remixes courtesy of Subb-an & Quenun doing the business. Sossa’s track “Consumer W***” recently featured on My favourite Robots' crossing wires series mixed & compiled by DC legend Timo Mass gaining massive applause all round.
On Remix Duties we're delighted to bring in one of our favourite artists right now, London’s very own Ashworth, playing DJ sets all over London including London’s clubbing institute Fabric and plenty of European gigs flooding in. Ashworth is going places and we're yet to mention his top quality productions on labels like Holic Traxx, NeedWant & Baasaal. Ashworth keeps within the soundscape style of the original but with plenty of analogue goodness and a great groove that sets the mix off beautifully for the floor!
To round off the package, Martijn throws in a dubbed out take of Arconada toughening up the beats and adding some Roland flare.

Martijn is a DJ & producer from the North East of England who hit the underground House scene with his first release appearing on Kinky Vinyl in the form of “The Red Light EP” back in 2007 which instantly earned him the respect of DJs both national & international.

Since then, Martijn’s penned originals for successful labels such as Kruse & Nürnberg’s Save Room Recordings, Karol XVII & MB Valence's Loco Records, Look Ahead Records & Leeds based Baker Street Recordings; amongst many other remix projects, picking up support from the likes of DJ Sneak, Marc Romboy (Systematic), Brothers Vibe, Boris Werner (Moon Harbour), Soul Minority & Huxley (Cécille).



Role models to any aspiring producers, Deep Edition Recordings addition to the line-up at Vertigo Festival this August, is testament to their hard work, professionalism, and irrefutable natural ability to create some of the most credible Deep House to have emanated from the UK over the past few years.

And, to say that we are extremely excited about what the label will be bringing to the mountains in August, would be an understatement...

Tell us your musical influences growing up and how you got into DJing and Producing?

Growing up I was always surrounded by music, mainly from my dad playing his records on a weekend, he likes all kinds of music but his Kraftwerk records really stood out to me, so different and still sound fresh. Being attracted to electronic music I got some turntables at the age of 13 and after learning to mix iv been doing it ever since.

Production was the natural progression for me, the next step so to speak after playing around with software for a while and been self taught it was a little daunting but my first ever Ep came out on 12” on Kinky Vinyl back in 2007 and iv been producing and remixing since then.

How would you describe your sound and style in just a few words?

Leading the way at Deep Edition Recordings, in which direction are you currently taking the label?

Onwards and upwards of course! We, as a rule don’t follow trends but try to keep a constant Deepness that our followers and peers have come to know and respect.

It's our understanding that the label is based in Durham, what challenges does that resent for a label if any?

Well, we could cry on and whinge about been isolated up here as there is not much of a scene in Durham its self, and were not in Leeds or Manchester but the North East scene as a hole is actually thriving, and we don’t have to go to far to join in with some of the best nights in the UK like Sample, Jaunt, Noc Noc & Shindig in Newcastle and Riffraff & Right-on in Middlesbrough, they all bring a wealth of top artists to the table every month!

Your "Italia 90" EP is due out mid to late April, what's the idea behind that, any special dedication or tribute to Italy?

The Italia 90 Ep is a concept that came together quite quickly, after been offered the chance to take part and play at the Vertigo Festival, I thought I could put some ideas together to create a vibe, to get across our excitement of been part of such a special event and of course bring back some childhood nostalgia with the title track, which everyone gets!



You've already been receiving great feedback, raise and support from X-press 2 to DJ W!ld, Tuccillo, Umek, Richard Belsom, Enzo Siragusa, tINI and Waif & Strays. How does it feel to get that kind of feedback about the EP?

Getting great feedback is always a good feeling and to receive it from your peers and favourite artists is a massive boost that keeps me motivated in what myself and the label dose. For the huge response I guess again the nostalgia of the 90’s, all the tracks feature a nod the 90’s house scene and it gets people buzzing.

Festivals are popping up everywhere these days and with every festival there is an effort to be different in some way, to have that extra appeal over the other festivals. What aspects do you feel not only make a good festival but also provide that difference?

What makes a good festival...Ultimately attention to detail…I think a lot of people can bang on a headline act and expect people to come but to make it different and more enjoyable is the detail, and from what I gather vertigo has it in droves, from the hand picked true underground djs on the line up, location and even the choice of fine local food, this is stand out stuff.

Looking at the Vertigo line-up, who will you definitely be making an effort to hear play?

100% Daniel Bortz huge fan of his sound and the Martinez Brothers cant do no wrong! Also the live set from Saytek also on Deep Edition!

What are you looking to do at the festival with the Deep Edition Recordings showcase?

Have fun! Create a wicked vibe and get people enjoying our sound that might not of heard of us before.

Do you know any Italian words or phrases?

Buone vacanze! (Enjoy your holiday!)

Will you just be at the festival for your set or do you plan on sticking around for the full shenanigans?

Myself, Michael McLardy and a bunch of friends will be staying for the full event if not longer!

Do you have any expectations for the Festival?

Hmmm, I expect it to be hot! Massive amounts of unreal House music and plenty of great times!!
