Parra for Cuva at Cañon del Sumidero, Mexico for Cercle

Hard to believe that another year has already passed by. Decided to mix another one of these on account of the fair amount of good music we've been blessed with this year. I've taken a different approach with this one. I'm usually very meticulous when it comes to compiling my mixes (last year's mix took me 8 months to put together) but i've decided to mix this one on the fly with no pre planned tracklist. The tracks that made it into the mix are the ones that always sounded fresh even after several listens. Anyway i'll shut up now, i hope you guys enjoy the mix and a big thank you goes out to everyone who has supported me this year :)

Providing a mix for DHA this week is Cubicolor, the act known for their collaborative efforts with London electronic power label Anjunadeep and curation of gentle, deep, bass-heavy atmospheric jungle vibes.

Making his breakthrough in 2014 with his 'Next Planet EP', Cubicolor has gone on to be supported by artists such as Pete Tong, B.Traits, Kolsch, Joris Voorn, Lee Burridge, Adriatique and George Fitzgerald.  Their 4th EP for Anjunadeep 'Down The Wall', was recently followed by a remix of the amazing 'X Machina' record from Howling for Monkeytown/Counter Records. Ahead of their debut album in 2016, Cubicolor arrive on Edu Imbernon's breakthrough label Fayer, with their single "Falling" and ‘Mirror Play’ releasing on Anjunadeep May 6th.

Amsterdam-based artists Cubicolor debut their very first album 'Brainsugar' on Anjunadeep, September 16th. The LP, which features the likes of 'Falling', 'Mirror Play' and brand new song 'Dead End Thrills', sees frequent collaborator and former Duologue front-man Tim Digby-Bell join Peter Kriek and Ariana Olierook as a fully fledged member of the project. Ahead the album release, we're very excited to welcome the guys on board for what it the sixty ninth edition of our central mix and interview series. The Script Series will feature periodic mixes exploring inspirations drawn upon via my long standing love of movie scores.

To begin the series, the first scene is called Remember. This mix stems from one of my favorite movie soundtracks and scores, the Lion King. Hans Zimmer’s masterpiece was an early inspiration in my path as a producer - I was stunned by how well the score intertwined with the pictures. To this day, it is one of the few scores that subconsciously produces images from the movie through the music.
