Floyd Lavine is South Africa's rising star in dance music. Music for him has always been a love affair between the concept of time and the mood that music creates. Whilst growing up, music was part of Floyd's everyday life, being introduced to artists such as Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Grace Jones, Stevie Wonder and Brenda Fassie from a very young age. In his late teens he discovered the rhythms of house and techno music, opening his eyes to his would be heroes like MAW, Kerri Chandler and Dennis Ferrer.

Beloved inductee Stellar Dendrites returns to Unbeyond Anthologies with a truly incredible double single, “nonphysical / outnumber”.

Markedly more somber and downtempo than past outings from the artist, this new A/B still features the hallmarks of Stellar Dendrites’ instantly memorable sound. Swaths of nostalgic synthwork, soothing atmospheres, and tightly polished, ethereal production are abound in this release. “nonphysical” is a 4-on-the-floor cut with understated yet tense songwriting and truly idiosyncratic synths, while “outnumber” is a sparse downtempo masterstroke through and through.

“These are a couple of tracks I made last fall. I was very scared and lonely when I made them, and that reflected in the composition compared to my other work. My worldview and state of mind have changed in ways that I never could have expected back then, but I still felt it right to share this music from that time. Now, as I work towards becoming the person that could have helped my past selves, the tracks have taken on an entirely new meaning.” said Stellar Dendrites.

“The world is still a terrifying place, and will remain so. Genocides and atrocities rage on, and the most cruel people only grow more proud of their foul nature. The calls for violence towards our world's most vulnerable can be deafening, but in no place are they the only sounds that can be heard. There is love buried in even the most bleak places, and we must look for it no matter how small or abstract.”

Gab Rhome has amassed quite the armada of label credits in only 2 years : All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Kindisch, Get Physical and Sasha’s Last night on Earth to name a few. He began his musical journey at an early age playing multiple instruments while being shaped by jazz music, and it only took a few years before making a transition towards the rhythms of dance music.

The Montreal-born musician currently focuses on dreamy and hypnotic electronic music, best suited for warm bubble-baths. His delicate melodies resonate best when coupled with his organic percussions, similar to the relationship between a proper bottle of wine and some classy tenderloin. His melodic tech-house productions have brought him on journeys across the globe where a similar voyage is built during his dj sets.

It took no less than 15 years of DJ’ing before Sandeep finally found his way to the studio, resulting in a remix for, and several collaborations with, die Stube Records founder Hollt. Sandeep’s long, deep, progressive and atmospheric sets have paved the way for his first ever solo EP, ‘The Deeper Dreamer’.

The EP kicks off with the story-telling ‘The Deeper Dreamer’, built on a solid foundation of drums, a slightly filtered kick and several dreamy synths and pads. With the delicate and dreamy original fitting for those longer sets in dark basement clubs, Hollt’s reinterpretation has a slightly coarse sound in comparison, yet making it a day-dreamy track for those hazy afternoons.

For Whom The Bells Toll is special collaboration between Sandeep and Australian based cellist Wilma. After having met online, the two artists worked together on this slightly melancholic, deep house an neo-classical music cross-over gem. Listening to the original during the night, the acoustic version will suit any Sunday morning.
