Highly regarded soundsmith ISOLÉE is well-known for his prowess when it comes to indie-infused, minimalist house with a catchy twist - just think of his timeless masterpiece "Beau Mot Plage" and its visionary blend of genres. His rework of the bass-laden, atmospheric WE MIX AT SIX is no different, steaming down the sophisticated textures of the original and soaking the resulting concentrate in a stirring bounce. In order to consummate his musical artwork, @key-be resorts to merging his talent together with @seggmusic and @fassii’s flair, resulting the formation of ‘Circle Of Life’, the EP.

The oriental musical imprint, projected through both the melodies and the vocals, enforces the order from chaos to immerse the eardrum into savoring ‘Mirage’, ‘Allegory’ and ‘Circle Of Life’; the three departments composing this collaborative Extended Play.

The hypnotic sounds engage consciousness in an experiential therapy, dislocating it from its constraints, leaving it in a state of free-falling through multiple dimensions ending up floating in a four-seasoned Circle Of Life.

In Hour 2 we hand over Darwin, the boss of Berlin based label SPE:C, which recently dropped 'Behemoth'  by previous guest Decka. She had this to say about her mix;
'I guess you could say I was pretty late to the party... I only started listening to dubstep about 4 years ago while literally stumbling on a friends old record collection left in my flat. Most of it was total crap but there were a few OG gems in there that got me completely turned on to the sound. After a few years of collecting, I was burning to do a mix to show my take on a genre that's been sorta swept under a rug. Recorded on two turntables, a 92 and lots of love... '

Solid Steel (30th June) In Hour 1 we welcome Sei A to Solid Steel following the release of his Holding EP on Aus Music. This will be his 3rd EP for the label (plus an album in 2016) and follows releases on Hemlock, Turbo, Kompakt and International Deejay Gigolo Records. In his mix the Scottish producer drops tracks by Andres, Beat Spacek, Central, Gunnar Haslam, Matt Karmil and a track from the new EP. He told us;
"Being a big fan of Ninja Tune and the impressive library of Solid Steel shows, it was a pleasure to be asked and to do this mix. I had a proper idea of how I wanted it, but like most mixes, things can quickly change. I didn’t intend to go as deep as the mix starts to sway around the 18 min mark, but essentially being a House and Techno DJ it seemed the natural fit. Keeping the flow of the mix V deep from just before the second half onwards but never going too heavy. The mix was on a pair of Nexus 2000’s and a DJM 900 then brought into Logic 8 for some FX, added acapellas over to give the mix a different feel at points."

In Hour 2 DJ Food steps up with a special 25th Anniversary mix for the Apollo record label and explained;
"It's hard to underestimate the importance and influence the Apollo label had on electronic music in the 90s, alongside Warp Records and its parent label, R&S, it released some of the most classic ambient electronica in Europe. Originally set up to release Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient Works vol.1' in 1992 as an alternative to the harder, clubbier sounds coming from the already well established R&S, it went on to host premier recordings from Bioshphere, David Morley, Robert Leiner, Locust and Sun Electric. 
Appearances from Global Communications, early Orbital offshoot Kinetic, The Orb, Andrea Parker, Model 500, Mixmaster Morris, Jam & Spoon, Cabaret Voltaire, John Beltran, Thomas Fehlmann, Dave Angel, Ken Ishi, Billy Ray Martin, Riz Maslen, Pete Namlook... the list reads like a who's who of electronic and ambient music.
Winding down around the early 00's it was reactivated five years ago to release new music and this year sees the 25th anniversary of the label with a reissue of 'Selected Ambient Works vol.1' already in the shops. Search for Apollo on a digital service like Beatport however and you won't find it although some of the titles are available under the R&S banner, best head to Discogs to flip through the seven pages of releases and discover the many treasures hidden in their catalogue. Or start with the mix they commissioned me to make from a personal selection of my favourites from back in the day to celebrate, which Solid Steel hosts exclusively from today."
