Moon was always involved in the music scene in Moscow. But her passion for travel helped to build up her eclectic music taste, adding vinyl from each destination she visits from across the world. Since 2015 she left Moscow to travel and performed all around Asia and Europe.  In 2017 while she was in China she started her project “Techno Motel” with monthly events which is still running. This was created with the vision of developing a musical culture in Shenzhen city and bringing some of the most well-known artists to debut in Southern China and different countries. She had a showcase tour of “Techno Motel” in China and Russia with her partner and then she moved to Bali where she focused on music production.

With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

When the rush wears off, relaxation sets in. It figures. Yet, it is not easy to strike the right chord for every era musically. Taron-Trekka is familiar with both: the exhilarating turmoil and pushing of a club night as well as the soothing decay and the eager beginning of the night. One simply hears this in their countless tracks. The new EP “Pourpre Sable” focuses on the beginnings and the endings: when things go calmer, continuously or reconvened, when conversations, thoughts and memories mingle with gliding grooves, when the synapses are fully attuned to deepness.
 
However, the three tracks are not making do with reduced, dimmed house arrangements – despite those very three being a truly big deal in terms of deepness. No way, Taron-Trekka have snatched Violet Starfish.  Their casual, yet almost intimate singsong gives the tracks a spoken word profundity that will melt in one’s mouth. Never intrusive, never put-on. Instead, subtly entangled with the grooves and chords. Storytelling on and beside the dancefloor.

”Okular“
In decelerated fashion, ”Okular“ shifts through entwined string sections, flushed by a few brightly flashing key strokes on the synth. In addition, a brief smile from Violet Starfish. Super deep.

”Shera“
The atmosphere remains dimmed, but the bass drum is a lot tighter. ”Shera“ focuses on field recordings of a distant road, on few, concise sounds and the voice of Violet Starfish. Is this the prime time peeking out or can we expect any more to happen today?

”The Willow Tree“
A track with classical potential. Gently vibrant house chords amid dynamic bass drums and percussions, Violet Starfish at its best. A shimmer in the air and all of a sudden, the sun is flooding the floor with all its warmth.

Pale Blue, the duo of Elizabeth Wight and Mike Simonetti, released their debut album to much critical acclaim back in 2015. They come together once again with their latest EP  You Stopped Dying due to drop on Crosstown Rebels in February.

“The “You Stopped Dying” ep takes influence from shoegaze groups like Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine and moves it to the dance floor....The result is a strange hybrid that some have called “technogaze”....This would never work if Liz wasn’t such a strong vocalist. Her amazing vocal range makes it easy.”  Mike Simonetti

Pale Blue  is a hypnotic affair, the driving bass sitting perfectly under  Wight’s  powerful yet ethereal vocals. Daughter of Babylon takes the record into heavier techno territory with its thudding bass and Wight’s breathy vocals delicately layered over the top. On the flip side  Love is an unapologetically industrial number with screeching synths that echo around Wight’s vocals.

Simonetti and Wight have each earned their musical stripes in their own rights. Simonetti founded the hugely popular Italians Do It Better as well as his own successful record label, 2MR. He’s released a slew of records on highly regarded imprints such as Me Me Me, Correspondant and Public Release, and enjoys a fruitful career as a touring DJ, which shows no sign of abating. Wight has previously lent her exhilarating vocals to the West Coast band, Silver Hands of which she was once one half of.
