The fourth Applied Magic release comes courtesy of Komenda, two alluring Süßboys from the flatlands of the North German Plain.

All tracks are unique in their own little way, just like the minds that created them. A manifestation of the idea that art must constantly move forward, that there are still new ideas and uncharted territories out there. You just have to seek them out.

Tunno could be best described as the sound of a dying dial-up modem, sending stuttering morse code to the depths of interplanetary space. Reminiscent of 90s bleep sound, warped and filtered through a prism of contemporary, cutting edge dance music.Guaranteed goosebump material!

356 really has its own pulse. 5 to the floor, straight yet broken, an everchanging, perpetually repeating mantra that just sticks in your head and never leaves you again. An unlikely earworm if you just let it catch you.

French hypertalent INVŌKER's remix for Tunno takes the original and wraps it up in a warm and cozy blanket. Classic Detroit pads meet a colorful, almost Balearic sound design with the monochromatic, angular original melody still shining through, transporting it from outer space to outside - somewhere near the beach.

The whole package is topped off with an artwork by David Kochs, who is not only a singular producer and DJ but obviously a really good designer as well.

Tom Demac emerged midway through the new millennium as a producer and DJ whose ability to straddle various genres and styles with ease have been evident in a colourful and bustling production CV. From early releases on his own Electronique Audio label to singles on acclaimed labels such as Aus Music, liebe*detail, Drumcode and Pets Recordings, Demac has also found a regular home in Hypercolour over the years. "Sink Or Swim" here, oozes elegance from the first kick drum to the very last; a brooding build up of melodic keys and tension building pads swiftly evolves into an expansive and emotive main room floor filler, resplendent with huge gnarly bass hooks and driving drums. The great building sprawled before the line of sight in the distance. At the end of the plaza it held an ancient presence, a disorientating and somewhat beautiful disarray of all that was wrong with this world. Inside were the decision makers, the captains of industry who helped to manipulate the fringes of society for their own ego focussed gain. A disgusting vision, a bizarre identity should not sit within a building so proud and tall. It was time to bring it down.

Audiojack’s Gruuv label returns early April with youANDme’s ‘Orange Skin’ EP, featuring one collaboration with Heidi and a remix from the label-founders themselves.
Germany’s Martin Müller aka youANDme has been a core part of the Berlin club scene and further afield for the past decade with material on the likes of Cocoon, Rekids, Pokerflat, Desolat and Ornaments amongst others as well as shows in every major city from Paris to London, New York to Amsterdam and of course on his home turf in Berlin.
Here youANDme delivers his unique twist on dark and dance floor driven house and the release opens with ‘Common’ fusing dubby stab sequences and tension building atmospheric strings with thunderous sub bass tones and crunchy drums. Orange Loop ft. Heidi follows, employing dark and brooding stabs, vacillating subs, bumpy drums with a dynamically unfolding aesthetic.
Audiojack then round out the release with their stripped-back interpretation of ‘Common’ fuelled by the original’s choppy stab hits, murky bass tones and dry, crisp drums.

Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan’s inimitable imprint Ouïe sees the long-time collaborators return with their second EP on the label since its 2016 launch.

Inaugurated as an experimental space for left- eld artists, the burgeoning label has secured a coveted reputation for issuing story-telling, evocative cuts which blur genres and challenge dance oors. With this stirring, three-track outing, the duo once again steer Ouïe as being a valuable source of essential electronica for open-minded music lovers.

The atmospheric ‘Flying Lizard’ is a stunning masterclass of dreamy, emotive soundsca- pes, with rousing drums beating the terrain while the track soars with an enrapturing melody.

‘Huch’ has listeners craving dance oor heat with goading afro drum rhythms taking the lead before an elevating synth line weaves in some much-welcomed euphoria. Closing the EP is ‘Alambic’, a track equally as provoking in its afro-inspired drum pattern and percus- sion, and it’s one certain to invoke a positive response as pulsing pads drive momentum up a notch.

Moscow based Slow House heroes Geju contribute a wonderful remix in their own signature sound.

Daniele Di Martino kicks off his 2020 on a strong footing with a tasteful new outing on Mono.Noise.

Phantom opens up with shimmering percussive lines and rolling drums that make for a dark, engaging yet hypnotic listening. Eternal is another edgy track that shows off his mastery of synth layers that keep you on your toes, while also laying down more rubbery drums to carry you late into the night.
