Mombaak is yet another promising artist that we are honored to introduce and release. His name is a variation of a word from the Tupi-Guarani language that means “to wake up”, representing the power that music has in making us see beyond what the eyes can see.

This is his first official release, therefore, it marks a magical period of transition for the artist, a kind of rebirth of a bright future that draws ahead. His EP, Asbestos, makes reference to an ore found in nature characterized by being flexible, practically indestructible and highly resistant to heat — characteristics that serve perfectly for this EP.

Even without having released anything before, he had already gained support from BLANCAh, Bigfett and the Italian Agents Of Time, who played his tracks at Printworks (London), Circoloco (Ibiza) and Surreal Park, when they came to Brazil — new support will definitely be received in this excellent work .

“Asbesto” opens with modulated synths that are accompanied by keyboard and piano lines. The arpeggiated break is an invitation to close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by the magnitude of the sound. The track received a remix by Ed Lopes, another Brazilian DJ and producer who has also enchanted big stars such as Camelphat, Massano, Innellea and Tale of Us. Ed Lopes chooses to add new piano notes, maintaining the emotional and deep essence of the original track.

Finally, Amianthus maintains the same central element, but creates a sound contrast flirting with Techno through a dry and heavy kick that appears right at the beginning. This track is more like a cavalry passing through the streets, but it's just the bass getting into your mind and making your body shake inside. This is Mombaak!
