The tremendously talented Hungarian duo Faces serve up the latest Silk Textures offering, a revamped new version of their classic "One Way." The new '2011' Mix has a new hop to its step, with a a few extra layers to the groove. In the mid range, a funky, tremolo'ed lead pad and various male vocal stabs fill out the soundscape. Also included in the package - three stellar remixes by several Eastern European prog-deep heavyweights: Deep in Calm, East Cafe, and Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic.  Deep in Calm, the rising Polish talent who was last heard on his glorious "Night Drive" EP, offers an on outer-wordly interpretation. The bass in this one is masterfully engineered; the low-mid layer of the bass has so much movement and dynamics, it sound like the alien tongue of an extraterrestrial. Rounding out the atmosphere are a variety of subtle melodic stabs and filtered pads.East Cafe, the promiment Hungarian musician, is known for his cinematic textures and grand compositions. His take is a bit more light-hearted, yet, as to be expected, no less intricate than the other cuts in the pack. A chilled vibe is created by several light pads and an almost "beachside" rhythm. In addition, a keen ear will detect a variety of other samples filling out the atmosphere, creating a rich and highly sophisticated soundscape.Finally, the trio of Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic (known well for their work on their own label, Mistiquemusic) have crafted a quintessentially compositional rendering; this is a truly inspired piece from the gifted trio. A heavy kick and cavernous bassline establish the heavy, dark mood early, with a variety of pads and vocal effects soon adding a contrast of lightness. In the main break, the percussion completely drops out, and the gorgeous melodic undertones and pads transport the listeners to the depths of the Earth, or perhaps to a far more distant place in our galaxy.

With Matthias Meyer enjoying a fantastic year, the in-demand Berlin-based Producer & DJ revisits the debut release on his Strangely Enough label, with emotional and powerful remixes from acclaimed producers and friends Guy Mantzur & Tamir Regev, Amine K, Urmet K, and Forty Cats, released together on 29 July.

Each of the producers have added their own special touch to the ‘Strangely Enough’ remixes to ensure an exciting variety of updates which are perfect for this summer’s busy festival and club season. From the Guy Mantzur and Tamir Regev’s poignant peak-time reworking, to Amine K’s two deeper, yet magical remixes. Urmet K delivers a stirring update ideal for sunset sets, whilst Forty Cats takes her version into atmospheric and progressive house territory.

Matthias Meyer said: “’Strangely Enough’ is an important track for me and the reason I started the label. Whilst everybody loved it, it didn’t fit on any labels. I wanted to have some new, playable versions for this summer. Guy Mantzur is one of my favourites and he really transformed it into an emotional banger. Amine K has been a good friend for around 10 years and his version is less straight, but has some wicked melodies. Urmet made a nice, deep and soft All Day I Dream kind of version. Forty Cats’s update is also really nice. It has more of a proggy vibe, which I like to play out too.”

Matthias Meyer’s debut label release, ‘Strangely Enough’, was released in Spring 2021 and included support from RÜFÜS DU SOL, Solomun, Sasha, Adriatique, Rampa, and James Grant. Meyer released ‘The Choir’ EP on Strangely Enough in early 2022 which showcased his trademark diverse and eclectic sound, whilst brimming full of emotion and energy. This was backed by Matthias Meyer touring worldwide, at packed venues.

Chris Barag - Zenith (Xspance Remix) [Future Avenue]

T.Picker, an adept pianist, music producer, and DJ hailing from Poland and now rooted in Denmark, has graced the electronic music scene with his debut EP "Jebelilamajli" on the RYNTH label. Known for his eclectic style that spans deep oriental and organic house to techno, T.Picker's musical journey, which spans over 12 years, shines brightly in this release.
