Welcome back for the final mix of the season, and probably the last one I'll be doing for quite some time as I want to concentrate on other things. The emphasis on the night was to have fun and not worry about tight mixing, and I had a good drink all the way through so inevitably there was a few errors. I think at one point I was getting another drink and the record almost ran out but hey ho I just about recovered it! 
I wanted to play a selection of some of the best techno records to have come out over the last 3 years; ones that have featured in the previous cafedelmike sessions and it's culminated in a top class techno party mash up! I had probably the same amount again to play but was getting really tired(and drunk) by the end of the 4hrs so I called it a night at that point. 
I haven't listened to it back so I've no idea how good or bad it is but I'll leave it on soundcloud for a while for people to listen to even if it's not up to the usual standards.

End Of Summer Closing Shindig@cafedelmike 11.09.21

I began DJing for fun in the summer of '93 when I got my first set of belt drive Terralec turntables and Kam mixer. Started off with hardcore techno but soon realised I was a house boy through and through. Did the whole party scene thing and progressed onto direct drive Terralecs and then Technics 1210's. The 1210s were second hand and I was never quite happy with the pitch adjusters so went all out and bought some brand new 1200's which I still own to this day. These are now complimented by a set of top notch denon media players.  
I've been through quite a lot of different mixing equipment over the last 15 years, the highlight being a high end Allen & Heath mixer which sounded amazing but wasn't user friendly enough. Technology moves on and you have to move with the times so everything is now linked and controllable through the denon mixer. Denon have seriously upped their game in the sound quality department, and it really does sound studio quality with the right recordings.
 Musically speaking, I'm a proud owner of an extensive high quality deep house and tech house vinyl collection, which I still play for personal pleasure. My first love will always be deep house and Cafe del Mar style Balearic house which is obviously what inspired my handle @cafedelmike! 
My house sound has now evolved and morphed into a slower tempo techno that really is the opposite of chilled 😉 but hey that's my definition of cafedelmike!!!

I'm currently trialling mixcloud so you'll have to hop over to that for a short time but we'll see how it goes...
