honestly this is some of the best techno around

This is the live hard acid Orbit techno resurgence livestream from 05.06.2021 and it's an absolute cracker of a set! I thought the original "cafedelmike" livestream would be hard to beat but I think I may have just done it with this one-4hrs of pure unadulterated hard acid techno, straight out of the top drawer! 
This really is cutting edge up-front techno, you can't get much more underground than this. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea but I would be proud to put this alongside Der Dritte Raum or maybe even the master, Sven Vath!!! Ok maybe I'm getting a little overexcited, it's not that good, but there is some real creative mixing on here and barely a minor mistake to be had. There is the odd inevitable level variation but that's about it. Anyone who's mixed this kind of techno before will appreciate how complex some of the rhythms are and the slightest misplaced symbol is immediately noticeable so requires immense concentration. I was extremely tired around the 3hr mark but managed to keep it together for the final hour. I drank 5 cans of red bull during the set, some with and some without vodka! ...after 4 cans of peroni of course, just to keep me in the mood ha ha
...blasted caffeine kept me awake until gone 4am but serves me right I suppose lol
Well anyway, all I can say is I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed mixing it, and as always feedback is encouraged.

Mike Waldron Live! Orbit Techno Resurgence 4hr Special 05.06.2021

This is just a one off special commercial track that I made using FL Studio to understand how to produce a professional sound. Underground house and techno will always be my first love and this was produced using a bought template. Obviously the vocals are not mine and are high quality prerecorded in a professional studio. The overall track is very similar to the original format but I've timestretched it to make it into a house tempo and used some different sidechaining techniques and filters not on the original track. The plugins alone cost a fortune and it was a real eye opener as to just how exclusive producing music really is. If you want the pro sound then you have to pay, it's as simple as that!
This may have already been released by someone else as the rights to the template were not exclusively mine but I'd love to hear from people as to what they think to the production on it. I've deliberately compressed the overall track using T Racks just to give it a warmer feal as although it sounded great on studio monitors it was a little cluttered on hifi gear.

Sunlight Project_cafedelmikes hands in the air Remix  27.08.21

After being ill for nearly three weeks I've finally recovered and so I decided to celebrate with a cheeky comeback mix. It's culminated in a nice blend of deep house and techno that really gets you in the mood...Lots of Christian Smith records on here which gives it a classic, trancey deep house feel. The mixing is a little loose in places but generally a decent mix overall; only just tight enough for my liking if I'm honest. Not to worry, the music is quality, and at the forefront of cutting edge club techno imo. Obviously there is a lot more underground techno available from the likes of Charlotte De Witte etc but I like to keep a slight uplifting and commercial edge to my sound otherwise only the die hard on additives will be pleased!

Deep House And Techno Viral Comeback Mixed by Mike Waldron 08.01.22 Normalize

This is a snippet of a deep acid techno practice session streamed live on 15.01.2022 for friends on twitch. A deeper mix of acid and much more of a listening affair than the usual pumping techno I play but still worthy of a listen. My right hand deck was playing up a little and I had to keep manually adjusting it in the mix to keep it in time on more than one occasion which is a bit of a shame but I still managed to pull off a fairly tight mix in the end with just the odd noticeable adjustment throughout the set. I was a bit tired that night so I kept the stream short and this is the main body of what I played. The stream was finished off with a replay of last weeks viral comeback mix while I had a drink and a rest!

Deep Acid Techno Practice Session@cafedelmike 15.01.2022 Mixed By Mike Waldron

This is part 1 of the "Shut And Take My Beats" series and features some up to date hard techno beats fresh out on Juno. It was pretty much off the cuff and no deceptive editing, polishing or pre-planning has taken place, and I have to say it came together rather nicely. A couple of minor mistakes in the mix but I was having a whale of a time , beer in one hand and deck in the other! I wasn't trying to be  smooth I was just having fun and expressing my style as I always do. This first part is a slower tempo of around 131 bpm and it really chugs along well for a good old stomp... I ramped the bpm up a notch in the second part and as it was a lengthy mix decided to split it up so this is the first installment.

Welcome back for some more techno flavoured mixology @cafedelmike. This is the first mix I've done in a while due to suffering once again with a long standing back injury. Nevertheless it came out well bearing in mind I've not touched a set of decks since July time...
I wanted to do something a little different to my usual club style techno and it's culminated in a deep, classy blend of uplifting trance, cafedelmike style of course!
This is part one of a marathon 4 hr journey, crafted as a special dedication to my best friend Dave who's going through a really hard time at the moment... I wanted to lift his spirits and this is what evolved and eminated from my sound system!

Mike Waldron Live Old School Dark Hardcore Techno

I began DJing for fun in the summer of '93 when I got my first set of belt drive Terralec turntables and Kam mixer. Started off with hardcore techno but soon realised I was a house boy through and through. Did the whole party scene thing and progressed onto direct drive Terralecs and then Technics 1210's. The 1210s were second hand and I was never quite happy with the pitch adjusters so went all out and bought some brand new 1200's which I still own to this day. These are now complimented by a set of top notch denon media players.  
I've been through quite a lot of different mixing equipment over the last 15 years, the highlight being a high end Allen & Heath mixer which sounded amazing but wasn't user friendly enough. Technology moves on and you have to move with the times so everything is now linked and controllable through the denon mixer. Denon have seriously upped their game in the sound quality department, and it really does sound studio quality with the right recordings.
 Musically speaking, I'm a proud owner of an extensive high quality deep house and tech house vinyl collection, which I still play for personal pleasure. My first love will always be deep house and Cafe del Mar style Balearic house which is obviously what inspired my handle @cafedelmike! 
My house sound has now evolved and morphed into a slower tempo techno that really is the opposite of chilled 😉 but hey that's my definition of cafedelmike!!!
I hope you enjoy the sets I've uploaded, they're always recorded live and never pre-planned! Just beers and inspiration, and a lot of fun and interaction through the live chat on twitch.  I'm currently trialling mixcloud so you'll have to hop over to that for a short time but we'll see how it goes...
