track. The first remix brings a warm welcome and Deep Site debut for Ilias Katelanos whose remix recapitulates the original's keyboards, pads, and stabs while taking them into more ethereal areas of deepness. Forteba's remix utilizes the cinematic qualities inherent in the original, using them to craft a wickedly funky dancefloor reworking. Closing out with Loz Goddard
 whose remix brings the party atmosphere to the fore with celebratory 
voices merging with beautiful orchestration, new synthesizer lines, and a

The 9th EP from Manjumasi comes from San Francisco talent Jose Vizcaino. A producer with plenty of releases to his name, the Recoding Desires EP offers a beautiful medley of sensual and cerebral tracks. The title tune draws you right in - it is mysterious and lush, built around a strong pad hook with gentle vocal effects. “Tough Placement” follows up with an absolutely hypnotic groove, trippy and mesmerizing arpeggios layered throughout. The third original is “Clever Moves,” a proper deep house stomper that showcases Jose’s understanding of the dance floor and his taste for a proper kick-and-bass groove.

The first remix comes from legendary Barcelona producer Pablo Bolivar. His remake of Recoding Desires is simply irresistible, massaging the track’s theme into an even deeper form, with percussive synth stabs and shuffly percussion pushing the sex appeal of this raw groove to the next level.

Last up is a killer remix from London stalwart Jay Shepheard, who turns in a lovely late-night version of Tough Placement. His stripped-down interpretation highlights a trippy and techy sensibility, with a stabby acid riff weaving its way over a delectable bedrock of rhythm and pads.

Space is the place for riccicomoto’s expansive debut album on Ready Mix Records, titled ‘Huge Distances’.

Spread over 19 tracks, this first offering from riccicomoto on Ready Mix Records opens with ethereal static, like some half-deciphered messages from deep space. The theme continues throughout the project, as riccicomoto plays with motifs of connection and detachment through a broad and carefully considered musical palette. 

Drifting from introspective downtempo gem ‘The Inner Perception’ which features haunting piano by Gustavo Varela, through mid-tempo dubby electronic groover ‘I Think Of You’ with vocalist Silvia Bollnow, to deep house stepper ‘Robot Man’ with Bryant Goodman, ‘Huge Distances’ shows the full range of riccicomoto’s eclectic influences, safely tethered to earth by his unique production aesthetic.

Interwoven by sublime moments of musique concrète, ‘Huge Distances’ embraces the genre-agnostic sound made famous by the likes of Theivery Corporation and Fila Brazilia, whilst at the same time carving out its very own space in the electronic music landscape.

To misquote the late great Bill Hicks, riccicomoto’s debut long player explores “space, both inner and outer”, reminding us that the distances between them may not be so huge, after all.

Album concept quoted by riccicomoto "...my idea of the new album was to produce a soundtrack like a radio play. To tell a story with intergalactic grooves and sounds and to create a journey through different genres & supposedly huge distances …"
