From Trinidad & Tobago, Calypso Rose (@calypsorosediva) is the undisputed queen of Calypso for more than 40 years. After having produced 30 albums and composed 800 songs, she lives today in the Queens in NYC. In 2015, she met Manu Chao who did additional production on a few tracks from her next album.

From South Africa via London and now Paris, Mo laudi is a pioneering DJ / MC / Producer. He has been spearheading the Afro Electro movement in London since early 2000 and was the first to set up weekly residencies in London and Paris specialising in playing SA house, Deep house and Kwaito and Afrobeats.

Over the years Mo laudi has developed his own distinctive style, fusing cutting edge electronic music with traditional African rhythms. His dj sets are always filled with infectious energy, multi layered perfusions and diverse moods.

Nothing compares to playing in a 35-degree weather with a Brazilian samba school band. Nothing. But this recording comes pretty close to how it all was in Cluj, Romania. This set was inspired by those Brazilian marimbas and drums played live while I did my thing. It then evolves into a rather dark mix with a broad palate of eclectic rhythms that don't fix into one box. And of course, the ever-present tribal sounds are there, like my shadow they will always follow. 

I couldn't help myself and played the Sun Sun Damba edit of Peter Power again (again, again!). I just couldn't help it. <3 Endless love for that track.  Pajaro lindo de la madrugada! Pajaro lindo de la madrugahh! Sun sun! 

Thank you UNTOLD Festival for having me. Romania, bring me back.  Photo was taken in Poland that same weekend. Also a happy place.

My sets often reflect my own unique thoughts and feelings and gave the listener a deeper look into who i am and what moves me. I see myself as a traveler, a philosopher as a DJ in that i have a deep sense into sounds and in that way I try to make my thoughts and feelings audible. so my selection is a highly curated combination of unique tracks that are timeless and that overcome the boundaries of genre, country, or context. my thoughts to that mix are: »We are one species. We are star stuff harvesting star light. Our lives, our past and our future are tied to the sun, the moon and the stars. Our ancestors knew that their survival depended on understanding the heavens. so everyone can feel the whole world and still feel lost in it. so many people are in pain - no matter how smart or accomplished - they cry, they yearn, they hurt … we all want the same things: comfort, love, and a peaceful heart. we can feel it in our body and soul. and so as time goes on, you’ll understand. what lasts, lasts; what doesn’t, doesn’t. Time solves most things. And what time can’t solve, you have to solve yourself.«

Rolandson, a self-described “child of the Baltic Sea” whose roots lie in Sweden/Uppsala and Rostock, currently lives in a quiet city called Halle an der Saale. The amiable 38-year old’s heart beats for so many beautiful things he has discovered in his travels that he sees himself as a traveller who “transforms his thoughts and feelings into pictures, and transforms those pictures into mixtapes”. His sets often reflect his own unique thoughts and feelings and give the listener a deeper look into who he is and what moves him. To quote a wise man: “It is the work of he whose intention was not to impress, but to be true, that will persist.” (Jean Cocteau)

Rolandson has been playing music for 20 years now and has been enchanting his listeners with unbelievable sets that he often gets lost in himself.
His sound transcends the boundaries of genre or style - a characteristic that applies to him not only musically but also personally: he avoids clichés and instead strives for originality and musical diversity.

When he’s not behind the decks, he’s the driving force behind his netlabel and podcast series “Seasidetrip”, which he started in 2012 after recording a mix at sea. Since the first Seasidetrip mix, many artists have have interpreted their love and longing for the sea in their own mixes, contributing to the growth of this wonderful project which has not only touched the hearts of its listeners, but also led to many friendships and inspiring collaborations with other artists along the way.

Rolandson invites you to join him in making the world a bit more colourful, a bit more diverse and saturated with unique music.

Ahoy, ihr Rabauken und Meerungfrauen.
Das Novemberwetter hat von mild bis ungemütlich bisher alles in Petto und hält uns NachtEin.TagAus auf Trab. Die See wird zusehends rauer und Poseidon lässt seine Wellen höher herauf peitschen und zudem schickt uns der zottelige, halbnackte Meeresgott auch noch dunkle, tief hängende Wolken entgegen. Die Tage sind also zu kurz, um sich an den wenigen Sonnenstrahlen zu erfreuen und somit wird die Crew weinerlicher - da hilft nur ein Machtwort von eurem Käpt’n https://soundcloud.com/rolandson und ein musikalischer Kajütenschunkler von Smutje https://www.soundcloud.com/lauterbach , damit hier wieder ein wohlwollendes Grinsen und ein geschmeidiges Miteinander einkehren, welches dann sogleich den grauen November-Alltag vergessen macht.
