Here is Modern Amusement Podcast 03...I was enjoying a caipirinha in my hotel room on my last night in Sao Paulo this weekend, when I heard a rapid metallic knock at the door…   Thinking it was an errant room service, when I opened the door and saw nothing I was shocked…

Until I heard a series of bleeps and tones and a shiver coming from the ground and looked down.  I was surprised to see b6 the backwards motion robot again.  He was shivering and cold to the touch and his outstretched claw held a disc labeled “Lee Foss – Modern Amusement Podcast 03”   below was a a message from a future me that this was a recording of an old school house set from the early 2000's played at the 2088 Neptune Ball.  While excited to see more evidence that in the future both time travel and planetary colonies are possible I was disappointed that once again there was no tracklisting on the disc.

This adult jungle gym aims to become a destination where participants come to seek shelter, play, meetup with friends and navigate the inland sea that is the Playa. At night the Lighthouses will truly come alive with fire, light, and a few other surprises.

This is Lola Villa(@lola-villa-musica): a Colombian storyteller, avocado&coffee lover, who now lives in Amsterdam even though she’s mostly on the road than on a specific location – the world is her home. She believes in the power of stories, quoting her: "The stories that I tell are usually multi-layered: they go through music, photography and written form. I believe in the power of narrative and how through it people will not only discover new worlds but it will make others understand that good musical storytelling transcends walls and borders and that it unifies us, even in the darkest moments."

Her IST podcast sums up her varied musical interests, mixing up latin-gems, mid&low-tempo areas, adventurous beats. This 74th edition has a conecting threat with the Cuban Claves, a kind of the backbone of Latin American music (which is the backbone of her very own sound). You might hear them pop out suddenly in this mix which goes way beyond the boundaries of one region or genre. As the mix makes clear, she has both the skills and the record collection to become an underground sweetheart.

The high voltage ‘Electricity’ kicks things off with the sensational voice of Anabel Englund leading the way. The deep, slow grooves ride effortlessly through the track with a breath-taking break down filled with electric bolts and melodic synth keys.

‘Goodnight Moon’ is the second on offer from Lee and Marc and boasts a heavy bass, beautiful synths patterns and infectious groove. The atmosphere in the track is filled with layers of intricate percussions and luscious melodies, while the interesting vocals make this really stand out from the rest.

Over on the B-side Lee takes the reins with ‘Could Be’, effortlessly swarming the mind with soaring synths, soft R n’B style vocals and lo-slung driving bass lines, while the trippy keys are destined to hypnotize you on the dancefloor.

Rounding off ‘B5 the Dinks’ is aimed straight at the dancefloor. Packed full of groove with an intoxicating bassline, the high-pitched warbling keys, vocals and crowd noises add a new dimension and make this a real party track. (Maouris)
