Stiff Little Spinners enters its 6th volume with a 5 track package spanning the widest sonic spectrum imaginable. Its tracks, in typical Spinners fashion, range from r&b influenced house grooves to shimmering, broken-beat, new-age garage swing.

Gimmix & Zorro prove their penchant for urban slow jams with a dance floor flavour. Their opener Oveile builds in a slow, sleazy fashion, eventually trading its more unpredictable drum arrangement for a sturdy 4/4 rhythm. The melody surges harmoniously, navigating the walls of its club-ready time signature, a phenomenal introduction to a mind-blowing collection of tracks.

Rampue slows things down on the A2 with Schleiermacherstrasse; a tripped-out, hazy roller with enough chime to hypnotise an entire stadium. This is not to say Volume 6 contains big room tracks, but rather the music’s power commands attention. This is certainly true for Kalipo’s Mäusemarsch, which whirls, in mesmerizing fashion achieving a climax fit for the party at its peak.

Krink’s Close Distance is perhaps the darkest sounding track offered by the Spinners – it seriousness and condensed energy is bound to leave audiences sweating, until its ferocious bassline gives way to soaring synths and jarred drums.

Joney changes the formula altogether – his sophisticated K-Hole Surfers offers a chugging, dubbed out roller which owes as much to techno as it does to dubstep. It is perhaps unsurprising from the track’s title that one feels like they are riding a rather erratic wave, delving in and out of our universe.

Already on their 6th volume, and churning out high-quality, club-ready tracks, this collective is set for big things.

Wassim Younes is an experience.
He is a state of mind.
He is the transporter of minds and souls to an amazing frantic paradise that, while leaving you knackered, strangely also leaves you feeling re-invigorated.
At 6ft tall and broad-shouldered, a chunky ostentatious bracelets around his arms, and immaculate dress sense ,he makes an imposing figure who commands respect.
Yet, he is not dancing; this is something far more emotional. Imagine watching a couple having hot, rough, yet passionate but dominating sex to a breathless, wailing lover which, in this case, comes in the shape of a mixing desk. Forceful, dominant, yet always tender and caring. The visual impact allows your body to further immerse itself in the ecstasy he is submitting you to; your ears alone cannot possibly absorb everything that he is throwing at you.
As for his sound, imagine every track as a partially completed canvas. Through the use of effects on the mixing desk, he adds his own colour, texture and feel as he maximises every beat of every track to create the unique sound. His precision mixing at incalculable speeds is part of the show; as each track mixes in you can positively feel the dance-floor going up a notch to keep up with the frantic and energetic DJ that has them all by the balls.

She is an avid believer in the power of the duo dance&music as a stairway to elevate&connect the spirit of humankind: getting back to the basics, our roots, our hips, our hearts, our oneness, suddenly no dogma on the dancefloor, just a dream-after-dream inside your receptivity. Exceptionally, and with your permission, it would be a dream we dream up together.

Mixed and shaped by her, this 87th edition was mixed on a full moon in May, inside Kakao Kave in Kreuzberg, Berlin. When people think of Switzerland, they think of green meadows, clear water, snow-covered mountaintops and fresh air. In the world of electronic music they think of soulful house music and an extensive clubbing past. It is in both of these environments that Marco Biagini aka KELLERKIND grew up. In the small and rural town of Solothurn KELLERKIND discovered the Chicago sound in the local clubs and became fully infected with the virus of house music. 15 years later, KELLERKIND has become an irreplaceable figure in the Swiss electronic music scene. Backflash: In the beginning, it wasn’t much more than just fun. Now though, it is a true passion. After many nights spent on the dance-floor of Solothurn’s Nacht-Schicht, KELLERKIND started to DJ himself – at first in his bedroom and soon in the clubs in and around his hometown. Warm deep house and the soulful music of Chicago were his biggest influences then and still remain to be the backbone to his sets. Very quickly KELLERKIND starts to DJ out in Switzerland’s big clubs. By 2007 Marco has already played the country’s most important venues, be it Zurich’s Hive, Rohstofflager, Rote Fabrik, Zukunft or Bern’s Formbar.

His career, however, really kicks off with his first release ‘Bergluft’ in 2008. His name, which translates as ‘basement child’, can be taken quite literal, as he spends hours creating and arranging his warm house sounds in his basement studio in Solothurn. In 2007, KELLERKIND meets the guys behind Swiss house imprint Sirion Recordings and in 2008 he releases ‘Bergluft’, a track that gets worldwide feedback. It is played out by many famous DJs, charts at number 5 of Beatport’s minimal section and even gets airtime on John Digweed’s UK radio show on Kiss100. After the sterling debut things happen quickly: Florian Meindl releases the Keller EP on his label Flash Recordings, of which the tracks ‘Natural Juice’ and ‘TomTom’ list highly in various techno charts. Later the tracks are re-released on vinyl as part of the Don’t Go Home EP, which does well with record retailers such as decks.de. In 2009, KELLERKIND’s working-relationship with Oliver Koletzki develops as he is asked to produce a remix for Koletzki’s ‘Since you are gone’. Since then he has released a shared EP on Stil vor Talent with Niko Schwind – an homage to classic house music – and has been featured on the Swiss Edition EP in 2010. More recently, his Groovebox EP was released on Flash to critical acclaim and another collaboration with Niko Schwind appeared on Light my Fire. While the spring of last year saw KELLERKIND’s first full length. Basement Story, his Backflash EP on Stil vor Talent has been the career defining moment thus far: hitting the zeitgeist perfectly, it reigned the Beatport Deep House charts at number one for weeks. Now, not even two years later, his second album Music is a Miracle is about to become another big success story. 

Simultaneously, KELLERKIND’s DJ career has taken a sharp turn: he masters the decks at Berlin’s famous Watergate every other month, holds a residency at Hive in Zurich and jets to international venues in Paris, Amsterdam or Istanbul regularly. While channeling the energy of the club in his records, KELLERKIND enjoys the contrast between weekend and weekday: he produces his tracks in a small wooden hut tucked away deep in the Swiss countryside. It is here that his warm and soulful tracks are borne and he gets the chance to replenish his batteries for those long weekends ahead. “Most of my inspiration still comes from the time spent in clubs”, he states, a fact that is confirmed by his DJ sets and productions. “Music, for me, is everything – it’s a miracle”.

The JEUDI family’s 4th edition of our annual OFF WEEK gathering in Barcelona is around the corner. As you know, we are always looking for something special for you. Together with our partners at WIP we were able to find another amazing location in one of the hippest areas of Barcelona.

An amazing never before used brand new location featuring an open air terrace.
You can spend all afternoon till late night with us, get lost and tanned on our open air dance floor with full Funktion one sound, hang on our chill terrace and have delicious craft beer, watch the crowd from the upstairs gallery, or treat yourself with some healthy food at one of our delicious food trucks.

Besides these great features, it’s all about the music; so the line up as always, and keeping up with the JEUDI vibe, is full of friends and family.
This year we've invited Valencia’s Edu Imbernon, Francesca Lombardo, Digitaria, as well as our hippy by heart: Stockholm’s Bambook.

Of course not to miss also performances by the label's creators, Doctor Dru, recently relocated to Barcelona, Take It Easy; one half of the Adana Twins, and from JEUDI's hometown, Hamburg; our man Davidé.

Barcelona Off Week Minimix Series Vol V - Doctor Dru

Well it was many years ago I began mixing together my favourite tunes.

The Dj stage first caught my eye when attending a All Ages event in Toronto where I saw the element of creation the Dj was carrying out on the crowd; taking them along for a journey and making people dance.

It wasn't long after I began my path too and heading to this direction too; becoming a club Dj, that is.

It was back in 2007 when I first started messing around on the 1s n' 2s and not long after I found myself playing clubs in Downtown Toronto by the names of 'Lot 332', 'Rockwood', 'Wetbar', 'BLVD Room (Peter Street)', 'Frequency', 'Acid Lounge - Guvernment' and 'Mink Nightclub' where it started it all. The list has many more but let us continue the Bio.

Now, having left this space and discovering the underground scene, my style advanced into a less commercial route.

Experimenting with different sounds and genres, I developed a deep interested in melodic house and harmonies that move the soul and drift you away.

I am a believer of musical storytelling that drift you away and carry you along a journey of sound all while still having drive and energy.

Today I pursue the deeper side of house and wish to memorize the listener with music found from around our world.
