It is Monday the 2nd of June 2014 and we welcome Anthony Parasole from Brooklyn for the first time on the CLR Podcast. Anthony is a longtime employee of Halcyon, friend of Levon Vincent and partner in Deconstruct Music. He is a prominent figure within the underground House and Techno resurgence of NYC, known for the deepest sounds of those genres and for gracing multiple dance-floors home and abroad from Shelter to Berghain. Anthony has had a breakout year in 2012 with his track "TYSON" featured on the highly acclaimed Fabric 63, mixed by Levon Vincent. He also launched his new label The Corner with the release COR-01 "Tri-State" by Dj Qu & Nor'Easter, which sold out worldwide. Just recently he released COR-02 "Atlantic Ave" by Anthony Parasole & Phil Moffa to highly critically acclaimed reviews on multiple online magazines. Our summer ends right now. With small delay we are pushing top gear and starting new podcasts season with one of the most interesting djs in this underground planet. Here is a short description about Golden Pudel resident dj Phuong-Dan, other our top writing will be  online as soon as our writer will back to this crazy deep web world. 

Phuong-dan is a renowned dj based in Hamburg, Germany. For over a decade now he is both resident and host at legendary St. Pauli underground venue golden pudel club. Since seven years he runs the club-night Gatto Musculoso, with guests like italian pioneer Beppe Loda, Veronica Vasicka of the Minimal Wave label, Daniel Wang, Vladimir Ivkovic, Tolouse Low Trax, Hunee, Anika, Lovefingers, Traxx, Alexis Le-Tan, Vidal Benjamin, Sean Canty or Ron Morelli. These list is far from complete but does describe the personal taste of Phuong-Dan and so the musical range of his dj sets. He is spinning an unique eclectic mix from contemporary underground techno, minimal synth, post-punk, new pop and ebm, the electronic side of krautrock, and rare disco, to flashy left field experimental stuff – he couldn't care less for narrow minded ones who restrict themself to a certain genre or a specific decade, he is exploring the whole world of music on search for the groove of the night. Naturally, it should be on vinyl. Phuong-Dan is a regularly guest at Düsseldorf's Salon des Amateurs, he played noted clubs like Robert Johnson in offenbach, le Sucre in Lyon, Studio 80 in Amsterdam, le Batofar in Paris or 20/44 in Belgrade; but also in art spaces like C/O Berlin, Haus Der Kunst Munich, Kunsthalle Vienna, or at events like international short film festival Oberhausen, foreign affairs festival Berlin, european media art festival Osnabrück, mimi festival Marseille, or überjazz in Hamburg. He had supporting slots at concerts of artists like Asmus Tietchens, Dieter Moebius (of cluster fame), Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit, Kreidler, Felix Kubin, Gigi Masin, Steve Summers, Das Ding, Aksak Maboul & Veronique Vincent and many more. 

Since January 2015 Berlin community radio streams the opening hours of his gatto musculoso – when he shares the decks with his guest playing each other new discoveries or old faves, loosely dedicated to the more nonfunctional side of music.

Submersive Podcast 80 - Substance aka DJ Pete

Phase Fatale is the techno project of Berlin-based DJ and producer Hayden Payne from New York. Born out of his various post-punk and cold wave bands in the past, Phase Fatale is an artistic endeavour that serves as an outlet for his own interpretation of the darker, harder and industrial-leaning techno. The project aims to demolish the border between music and noise to create a new individual vision of techno – the sound of future war, whether it’s captured on vinyl or an extract of the digital static.
Phase Fatale uses exclusively hardware to achieve his distinguishable sound for his live sets while his DJ sets feature a unique blend of techno laced with EBM and industrial. His 2014 debut EP Skyscraper on Italian label Avant! Records moves between noise-ridden soundscapes and minimal industrial techno rhythms, capturing the spirits of both EBM classics and modern contemporaries. His most anticipated forthcoming 2015 releases include EPs on Berlin-based [Aufnahme + Wiedergabe] followed by Jealous God. Phase Fatale has played alongside acts such as Clock DVA and Cold Cave around the world from Los Angeles to Moscow.

We're happy to present the recording of Sebastian Mullaert and Ulf Ericksson's live/dj set at the Labyrinth 2015. Seb and Ulf played the first night, entitled "Full Circle". It was a set where everything came together beautifully and organically, crowd and artists and music, and we all felt it was something worth sharing.

Here is the full 3.5 hour recording, together with a few words from Seb and Ulf: 

"For me, everything comes and goes in circles. And like everything else these circles are unpredictable; spiralling and reformulating like a kaleidoscope. Manifestations of patterns in this very moment; Consciousness.

I played the first edition of Labyrinth, had a few returns during the years and now returned for the 15th edition. Russ and Yasuyo, together with their Mindgames crew, have always performed their festival with a focused and radical mind; one intention, one passion - to create a psychedelic experience of dance surrounded by the Japanese nature. While the festival has grown in many ways since my first episode at Labyrinth, this radical focus on the mind-altering experience and the true love for dance have remained the same, with no sign of resignation.

This year I shared the stage together with Ulf Eriksson; a friend who has become a very special creative collaborator. To be a part of Labyrinth and to play this specific gig is the most magical experiential puzzle of moments I've shared with Ulf. This is an experience that will continue to remind us why we are doing this – why we are part of this ever shifting circle, spiralling into inspiration upon aspiration - something that never stops. I'm forever thankful to Russ and Yasuyo both for giving us the opportunity to play, sharing this recording and also creating a series of experiences and stimulations, resulting in each of us that listens as individuals becoming a part of something bigger and more all-encompassing – a circle that connects us beyond the realms of materialism, into the unpredictable.

Russ, Yasuyo and the Labyrinth are a true source of inspiration and a reminder to all of us in love with dance and electronic music that there is no end to the power of experience. 

Let us continue to remind each other, again and again, circle by circle, moment by moment into eternity."

"To play the Labyrinth festival has always been a bit of a dream of mine. Why, I do not know exactly. Maybe it's because it takes place far away, in Japan. Maybe it's because of all the stories you have heard from the festival. Maybe it's because of the unique tribal mystic that surrounds it, in combination with the nature of the location. Maybe it's because of the small group of artists, who all become like family for a few days. I do not know. But what I do know is that this dream has always been there and I am sure I share I it with a lot of musicians and DJs around the world. Anyway, 2015 I was lucky enough to be offered a slot, due in large part to my collaboration with Sebastian Mullaert, who already played there many times, both as Son Kite and as Minilogue.

So there we were behind the Labyrinth tipi, me and Sebastian, ready to go. Or, rather, not ready at all. We had prepared each to our selves but never found the time to meet up and rehearse together. I remember that Sebastian looked at me just before the set, and said something like: "I will not be sad or disappointed if things do not go well". I guess he was trying to calm me down since he knew I was kind of nervous. Anyway, off we went and thankfully, for some unknown reason, it was one of those gigs where everything just felt right.

So here is the recording. I still have not listened to it, and I do not think I will. I think I prefer to stay with the live memory of how it sounded. But I do hope that you will listen to the set, and that it will give you pleasure and meaning, just as my memory of it."

Beside djing in the capital, in 2007 decided get into music production attending a course sound engineers, having the chance to meet Ken Karter, and working with him for almost two years at the studio ”Mastering Unlimited”. After sharing the decks with Conrad Van Orton at “Fluid” parties, he became a resident DJ at Goa Club in Rome, where a good feeling with the public grew. Since then VSK started working in a Recording Studio as a professional audio engineer, dealing with productions for movies and television. In 2010, together with Conrad Van Orton, finally started a project which they were planning since years before: Consumer Recreation Services Recordings.

Multicast Dynamics aka Samuel van Dijk delivered this much expected mix to us in the beginning of Spring. This mix took us a long time to listen repeatedly, from the moment it starts to the end, we were deeply indulged in the dreamlike whirls. Such feeling lingers apart from the change of the surrounding, it even strengthens with intense stimulation. His music is rich with levels of creativity, and there are also entrances and exits; it doesn’t lose itself because the change of the environment.
