We've been big fans of Leftside Wobble's 'Acid Soul' series, so we are delighted to have him put together a mix for us. Here are some words from him regarding his mix for us:

"Leftside Classics is a retrospective featuring some of the tracks that have meant the most to me over the last five years or so. These are the tracks that somehow always find a way back into my sets, tracks that rise above the transient and tracks that defy limiting genre pigeonholes. My sets have always been about joining the dots, celebrating the eclectic and supporting those tracks that exist in the rich hinterland between dub, funk, disco and house. Hopefully this retrospective captures that overriding ethos.

I've included a small selection of unreleased LW bits and a few exclusive versions of well known staples to keep things pushing forward too.

Over the past 8 years or so we have had, along with Theo Parrish, the honour of playing the monthly residencies at a small basement club in Shoreditch, London with an impeccable sound system. After 20 years of operation, it was time to move on and close the doors on a place that has a lot to answer for in shaping modern club culture. To say this space along with the owner Ade’s singular vision was fundamental in our personal musical formation would be a complete understatement. 
 
On the day of their closing, manager Charlotte asked us if we’d put the system through its paces for the last time that the club would be open to the public. We set about packing the anthems from our respective residencies and on the night once the people were through the doors played 2 records in turn for the rest of the dance. We included tracks of our own and of friends that were made with that place in mind. Records like Daphni - Ye Ye and Four Tet - Pinnacles were made to first be played at Kieran’s nights there, and the Floating Points - Vacuum EP was born out of the CD-R night at the club, and its launch party was the trigger for Sam’s monthly residency.
 
We set this recording up just before the start of the night and unfortunately it distorts in places, but we make no apology for how joyfully noisy people get! The vibe in the room this night was typical of the club on any given night and we hope this recording captures just a fraction of the spirit of a Plastic People night.
 
A massive thank you from us to everyone that has come down to the nights over the years and supported our music there. We are truly humbled to have shared the music we love with people at this place, and your energy in turn has influenced the way we make music on an unfathomable scale. We also thank the bosses Charlotte Kepel and Ade Fakile for inviting us to the club and having faith in us over  these years! All the best for the future!

Press release: 
In a scene renowned for its many unique figures and endlessly complex ways of working, it’s saying something that the music of The Mole still stands apart for its greatness. A true innovator in a field of similarly-minded individuals, his is a way of working that manages to be both engaging, captivating and mind-blowing at the same time. For his latest, the Cobblestone Jazz man shows off some of his vintage colours courtesy of a release which comes at us here from Cesare vs Disorder’s Serialism imprint. If you’ve been following Serialism of late, you’ll know all too well that this is a label with an MO that veers toward the unusual and the enthralling. From this perspective alone, the signing of four tracks here must have proved something of a no-brainer for all involved. 
 
It’s the title track that kicks things off. Much like the work of his compatriot Akufen, this is highly-spirited microhouse of the type that brilliantly helps to move the night along at a wonderful and consistent pace. ‘A Walk in the Field’ adopts a brilliant kitchen-sink approach, with its many elements somehow combining to create a brilliantly cohesive slice of intricate electronica. An auspicious start, it’s also very much a sign of things to come. 
 
Completing the A side is the sounds of ‘Wiggle Wiggle’. This time around, the focus is firmly on bringing the funk, a task the producer adheres to with trademark poise.  Revolving around a canny guitar-fuelled baseline that’s cleverly paired with a deep underbelly, it again merges two different sounds but ultimately sounds sublime. 
 
‘Laughy Dumb Dumb’ is maybe the most unusual of the tracks on offer, and it’s here where the producer really showcases his knack for creating intriguing, difficult-to-pigeonhole electronica. Featuring clever vocal samples and a fair smattering of smile-inducing vibes, it’s a mostly laid-back track thats sure to go down a treat wherever it’s allowed to roam free. The concluding effort sees the Canadian producer side up with Hreno, a Berlin-based Canadian who he’s collaborated with in the past. Their minimal-inclined track, ‘Valerie Temple Doom’, is an aptly-titled number that goes all atmospheric and downtrodden in its search for kicks. A veritable array of all that makes The Mole such a treasured producer amongst those in the know, Serialism’s latest is a triumph for all involved.

Arnaud’s career dates back to 1990 when he began managing record shops and building what is now a huge archive of knowledge, taste and musical dedication to his name. His residency at Paris’s Queen and memorable sets around the world perfected Arnaud’s DJ skills, earning him his spot in the worldwide scene where he continues to this day to be a prominent figure. Since 2006 Arnaud lives in London where he is a regular DJ at Fabric since 10 years.
Arnaud runs Children of Tomorrow since 2011, a label created by Emmanuel Ternois in 2008.
A timeless rawness is the main element of the label. Arnaud is releasing his own music and confirmed talents such as Terrence Dixon, Oscar Mulero, ROD, Jonas Kopp, Ryan Elliott, Samuli Kemppi, Zadig, Antigone, Tensal, Exium, Savas Pascalidis, Antonio De Angelis or Birth Of Frequency. Almost all the releases have been played or charted by artists such as Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, Ben Sims, Rodhad, DJ Deep, Chris Liebing or Dave Clarke.
Together with his partners and colleagues Arnaud organises a series of Children Of Tomorrow events in London & abroad that focus on talent.
Since 1999 Arnaud produced different EP’s & remixes for Affin, Bass Culture, Cocoon, Children of Tomorrow, Chronicle, Syncrophone, Safari Electronique, jus to name few. Since 2013 Arnaud is also producing with Antonio De Angelis under Detect Audio’s alias.
Arnaud is one of the true veterans of the London underground music scene. Having been associated or played at every major techno party over the last ten years, Arnaud has kept himself at the very forefront of the scene.

PAUL NAZCA is an unconventional DJ from South of France. He was born and still lives near Arles, amongst the century-old olive trees grown by his family. He is a simple person whom transcends the ages and fashions. Like an olive tree, he is never uprooted.

At this stage of his career, spanning more than 15 years at this point, PAUL has written his own page in the electronic music history. Co-founder of SCANDIUM Records and Sign Industry, Paul has many releases on Kompakt, B Pitch Control, Boxer, F.U.Fcom, Skyptöm, Sleaze, Analytic Trail and more. He has evolved but has always remained loyal to his beliefs.
His last vinyl releases on Scandium Records, « Memory EP» and « Memory Rmx with DJ Hell, MadBen et Petar Dundov » are supported and played by famous artists like Laurent Garnier, Nina Kraviz, DJ Hell, Sven Väth, Dr Motte... Because of those releases, Paul write into the marble the comeback of this unavoidable label which is Scandium. Paul's productions always come from old analog synthesizers associated to cutting edge technology. He prioritizes the use of machines rather than virtual instruments when he composes. His home studio includes 80% of analog instruments. 

"NAZCA" is not the product of a style, but of a separation between eclectic and pure techno productions. His aim is not to release tracks using a different stage name to target a wider audience but to center his techno tracks around the label Anemone based on an exclusivity agreement. 

Public notoriety is not important for Paul. Only music matters and should be exposed, not the producer.

Steve Mulder is a veteran producer who has racked up an impressive back catalogue including Unrilis, 1605, Respekt, MB Elektronics, Bush, and Odd Recordings, along with previous solo EPs on Intec.

Giovanni Carozza is an exciting young talent who still early in his career, has already featured on many high profile imprints such as Unity Records, OFF Recordings, Suara, Bitten, and Phobiq.

The pair had previously met via Giovanni Carozzas release on Bitten where Steve Mulder contributed a remix, which proved to be popular with DJs and clubbers all around the world. With the blend of the two artists styles having proved so popular, it made perfect sense for them to further this notoriety by collaborating on some original tracks, and this EP is the fruits of their labour.

Primate opens the EP with its growling lead synth that gives it a monstrous sound full of ominous tension that adds to the track's ferocity. Like a ravenous predator with a huge appetite, the menacing mood of this techno track is full of aggression, and has an intensity perfect for maximum impact when being played through a club sound system.

All about the urgency of the arpeggiated synth, Avant Garde has enthralling tension full of excitement. Its stabbing lead sound adds further magnitude to its fast and furious groove, solidified with the pounding of the kick drum. Crunching claps and vocal phrases are all a part of this captivating cut that closes off the two track release.
