For the 38th episode of our podcast series, we are delighted to welcome an artist who is for us one of the most important pioneers on the scene. Founder of the Female: Pressure platform and working to introduce the values of brotherhood into the clubber community since 1998, we are honored to present here an extraordinary Hypnotic Techno set from the very talented DJ and producer Electric Indigo.

Hosting her set now is particularly meaningful to us, as she was playing our last 'real event' before the covid restrictions began.
It's now been 15 months since our 'Eclectique x Art Bei Ton' event at :// About Blank (13.02.20) and we haven't been able to work fully since. A lot of nostalgia, but still a lot of hope for a better future - we look forward to seeing you on the dance floor very soon!

Electric Indigo works as a musician, composer and DJ. Her name stands for the intelligent interpretation of techno and electronic music.
She started her DJ career in 1989 in Vienna and worked at the legendary Hard Wax record store in Berlin from 1993 to 1996. 

In 1998, she created female:pressure, the international database for female, non-binary and transgender artists in the fields of electronic music and digital arts which got an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica 2009. 2012 she received the 'oustanding artist award' in the category Computer Music from the Austrian Ministry for Arts and Culture.

She makes music for concert spaces, clubs and occasionally for stage plays and short films. In her compositions and live performances, she emphasizes the spatial-temporal placement of subtly elaborated sounds and structures, often generated from speech recordings. Electric Indigo shuttles between Vienna and Berlin.

Ho ho ho, the mystery-shrouded Rrose - named after Marcel Duchamp’s eponymous persona, punches in right on cue for Xmas with an absolute monster of a two-hour jaunt into their exquisitely twisted headspace. Having served up some of the finest techno slabs of the past decade through the likes of Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts and now their own dedicated imprint, Eaux, Rrose steps in the series with a bonkers mix of dusty techno hustle-and-bustle, neatly alternating sequences of pumping 4x4 aerobatics, searing, noise-adjacent outbursts and eerie melodies to hypnotic effect. A constant balancing act of raw power and haunting score, Rrose’s RYC mix takes us on a deep and fascinating trip into genre-unbound territories, where only abandon and wildness reign supreme. This summer, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist Biography :
Sean H is for the deep listeners and dedicated steppers. The Amsterdam-born, Berlin-based DJ flirts with all tempos and textures to create sets that connect the cerebral and the somatic. Her intricately woven mixes find ease with natural and organic sounds that trickle in as refreshing, aerated and spacious as a breath.

Passionate about the concept of pollination and how it transposes with music, sounds, technology and humanity, Vincent Villuis recorded and gathered moments of his life as he walked through cities, fields, seaside and airports. Back in the studio, he introduced these field recordings in his electronic compositions to yield tracks that are eclectic yet retain a common essence. In this configuration, man and machine are both pollinators and pollenizers; music is the pollen.

Celebrating a momentous decade of operation, Belgium's Token Records has rallied together some of its artists across the years that have helped curate the label's powerful sound for a nine-track compilation aptly titled 'Momentum (10 Years of Token)'.
The leading track comes from former ​Mixmag​ cover star and Berlin stalwart Rødhåd in collaboration with London-based Sigha. 'Bloom' is a statement all of its own, slow to blossom before rumbling into a booming demonstration of the command both producers have over their dance floors.
'Momentum' will be released on December 1.
