“This is a four tracks ep i’ve realized during this years of (apparently) silence. i’ve work on them many times, in different moment of my life since 2014, trying to describes that kind of “comfortable delirium of reflection” that sculpt my silences during my life.” This are the words used by phooka to introducing this works, 4 original tracks, from the deep unconscious and reflective mood. The name of the Ep is inspiring by Curtis Yarvin and Nick Land reactionary movement and is used to focus attention on that kind of dark “Age of Enlightenment”, where we live and of wich these traces are made of. From the resampling of Sherpas chants (used in Sherpa Lament) to the field recordings of “Seening the light, Becoming Blind” & “Gain of Function” the item of this release is to investigate the sound of that kind of silence that is too loud to be listened to but that always cover our life. Close the EP an huge remix by Maurizio Cascella, who re-skulpt “Seeing the light, becoming Blind”giving to the track a more aggressive timbre without however upsetting the mood and soul of the track.

Minjoon [Hexen / KR]

Minjoon was fascinated by the joining of his painting awareness and techno sound. His theme consciousness is to find an ambiguous equilibrium point based on the extreme paradoxes of "Unfamiliar familiar" and "Autumn aesthetics". And it departs from pre-sound conversation. Ambiguous shapes and colors in images are not a visual sense, but appeal to another sense of energy.
Sound becomes another material with various colors in him. He likes to solve the story of music by the color and texture felt in the sound without entangled configuration of music. The sound that seems to be suppressed gives a feeling like falling into heavy water, but at a certain moment it is crying for the structural escape of the structure. Music is throwing a quiet question while finding a balance that never exists as another means of exploring his theme consciousness.

Minjoon 은 그의 회화적 작품의식과 테크노사운드의 접합점에 매료되었다. 그는 ‘친숙한 낯설음’, ‘추의 미학’의 이분법적 역설을 기반으로 모호한 균형점을 찾는 것이 그의 주제의식이다. 그리고 주제의식은 사운드 이전의 회화에서부터 출발한다. 이미지 속 모호한 형태와 색감은 시각적 감각이 아닌 또 다른 감각들에게 에너지를 호소한다.
사운드는 그에게 다양한 색감을 가진 또 다른 재료가 된다. 그는 음악의 구조와 형식에 얽메이지 않고 사운드에서 느껴지는 색과 질감으로 음악의 스토리를 풀어가는 것을 선호한다. 억눌려있는듯한 사운드는 무거운 물속에 빠져있는 느낌을 주지만 어느순간 발버둥치며 구조적 탈피를 외치고있다. 음악은 그의 주제의식을 탐구하는 수단으로 결코 존재하지 않을 것같은 균형을 찾아가며 조용한 물음을 던져온다.

Epoché is a Prague-based DJ who started DJing two years ago. He was noticed by the Prague’s underground community around the club Ankali. The club’s techno musical culture influenced him pretty much, and two outstanding labels, Harmony Rec. and Hypnus Records, from the deep and hypnotic techno genre, clearly drove him to polish his own musical techno style. With friends, he founded the Organizovany Plevel collective and his musical direction turned to the industrial and proto/electro genre. During the Covid-19 pandemy, he and his collective took part in the Virtual Healing which was a platform for collectives streaming their own events. He played at the Underdogs club, the Rush Festival and the Seismic in Prague. Now Epoché is focusing on bringing some good techno and electro juice.
