Our next artist style contains dark and hypnotic patterns, powered by rolling and heavy kicks. Lately he has been exploring a more deep, trippy and rhythmical side of techno.  During his mixing he is always building and layering the different elements together in such a way that there will be a consistent energy flow throughout.

At the beginning of 2023 he founded a new concept called ‘Hypnosis’, with this he tries to bring a more trippy and hypnotic sound towards Rotterdam. The concept itself is heavily inspired by events like Monument, Parallel and Mostra. Please welcome @a_hil

Rotterdam-based DJ AHIL is the visionary behind Hypnosis. As both the founder and resident, he aims the platform towards delivering a deep, hypnotic, and rhythmical experience. 

This mix was recorded during a period when he visited Monument Festival and Parallel Festival. Both places served as significant inspirations for AHIL, both personally and creatively. AHIL reflects on the experience, stating, 'Meeting, connecting, and vibing with other people through the power of music is truly something special. All the positive energy experienced during these events went straight into this mix. With this mix I’ve tried to really go for style I would love to hear and play on festivals during summer. It still contains lots of deep, organic soundscapes and trippy patterns that I usually love, but this time with a more sunny and free approach.'"

DSS 089 | Kaspiann

For our fourteenth installement we've invited Noah Lyas, an artist passionate about making refined ceramics and composing deep atmospheric rhythms.

Malii grew up in a house where music was always on because of two passionate parents who shared a large record collection with their children. With a father as a musician, early contact with different instruments was made as well as performing arts.

Later in life, around the age of twenty, after many dances in night clubs with friends, Malii started to make his own music focussing on soft percussive rhythms and lush atmospheres, finding inspiration in different kinds of music and sometimes movies.

The first two releases, “Before the Horizon” and “Obsidian”, were the starting point of Noah Lyas, his pseudonym, and the beginning of his record label called “Profundo Collective”.

Luigi Tozzi is an Italian DJ, live act and producer known for his atmospheric and immersive performances. 
He is an adroit manipulator of sounds, reflected in his productions that fall into the deeper, atmospheric areas of electronic music. They are impactful without applying force, evoking a cocoon-like sento in its listeners. 
Tozzi found his artistic home on labels like the Swedish Hypnus Records or Non-Series, where he regularly releases. 
Since his first release on Hypnus in 2014, he contributed numerous times to their catalogue and label showcases. 
His major project on the label is the "Deep Blue" album trilogy released in 2014, 2016, and 2021. 
It draws inspiration from a profound fascination with the oceanic world, a recurring theme in both Tozzi’s life and work. 
In 2023, an especially adapted ambient version of “Deep Blue” premiered in London. Tozzi's releases on Non-Series, like “Tender is the Night” (2019), “Almost Blue” (2021), and “Spiral” (2023), emphasize distinct sound elements and focus on techno with a minimalist aesthetic.

Furthermore, he contributed to a variety of labels like Mental Modern, OUTIS Music and Calipso.

Besides his work as a Live Act, DJ, and producer, Tozzi is involved in sound designs for art and film projects and is known for collaborations with other musicians and artists.

DSS 095 comes from the German town of Stuttgart. Nils Edte has developed a rather recognisable sound when it comes to his productions. Blending deep, organic and ambient sounds to create hypnotic and atmospherical tracks.
Together with Laima Adelaide and Tama, he runs Predawn Records. A perfect platform to promote and develop his vision on electronic music even further.

During the winter months I always feel the urge to slow down and turn a little bit more inwards, with this mix I've tried to capture my current emotions and feelings. Please join me on this deep and melancholic ambient trip, which will slowly evolve into a more rhytmic experience.
