Over 15 years ago up in Sweden, two young men started experimenting with deep, melody infused techno music. Not looking for fame or glory, but totally focussed on achieving altered stages of consciousness together with their audience, the duo was quickly recognised for their unique style and attitude. First touring the world as Son Kite, later as the well known Minilogue, it's hard find two artists who are more attuned to themselves, each other and their crowd as Marcus and Sebastian. &#13;
&#13;
After touring and working together for so many years, being taken all over the world and having been part of so many special journeys and experiences, they thought it was time to explore new territories: their inner selves. This journey is one that someone has to make for themselves. As a result, Marcus and Sebastian have decided to put their cooperation as Minilogue on hold, indefinitely, for the time being. Both will be exploring their own inner selves, spiritually and musically. Both still being full on artists, they will be inviting their audiences along on the ride, exploring the depths of the psyche through trance inducing music, but from now on separately, Sebastian performing under his full name Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus choosing for his Nobody Home moniker.&#13;
&#13;
Minilogue has been a big inspiration for years for everyone at SEKOIA, and the talk we had for our interview (also in DJMag NL) with them surpassed all our expectations of them having both feet on the ground but their heads up the clouds. These are artists that go beyond fame, beyond materialism. It's an honour to be able to host one of their last recordings as a duo, performed on new years day at Drift in Nijmegen.&#13;

<i>“Things don’t tend to change from one moment to the next. It’s a slow and evolving process. You always need a starting point, or a certain frame. Within such a frame, one has total freedom to create whatever they want and you can also pick whatever frame you want (depending on the matters you get in touch with in daily life). Many people are inclined to praise a chosen frame when achieving something beautiful, but to me it’s all about the freedom a certain frame provides me with. And if such a frame is coloured in in its entirety, I don’t want to hold on to it. I’d rather start colouring within a new frame, to gain inspiration for newer and different frames. At this point in time, the frame that is called Minilogue is completely full, which allows me to release it. I might very well return to it at a later moment.”</i> - Sebastian Mullaert &#13;

Another personal favorite is joining the ranks of contributors to the SEKOIA Podcast series. With every album more impressive than the last one, John Tejada’s prolific career has spanned over two decades and is ever on the rise. ‘On the rise’ can be interpreted in multiple ways, but for Tejada success is not measured in touring the most or playing the most gigs. The fact that he’s able to make a living out of making music does it all for him. 

‘Farther and Fainter’, ‘The Living Night’, ‘Unstable Condition’ and of course ‘The End of it All’. And there are still so many classic, memorable tracks made by John Tejada. It’s an honour to have this hour of music coming from his decks. Enjoy.

This podcast is a live recording of Stimming at the ZilpZalp Festival in former East Germany. Wouldn't we rather have a tailor made podcast to put exclusively on our channel? In Stimming's case, the answer is no. His music is best enjoyed live, interacting with the audience's energy.

ZilpZalp was his best and favorite show in 2014, because the people were amazingly nice and friendly and that made him feel comfortable  to experiment to his heart's content. Chances are that you weren't there to witness it, but now you will have the opportunity to relive it for the first time. - C.

About Andrea La Bombarda:

Andrea La Bombarda born in 1987, is an Italian producer from Bari. Since childhood, he cultivated a serious attitude towards electronic music.
From Ambient to Techno in 2010 he graduated by SAE International Institute of Milan with qualifications in technical djing (Analog and Digital).
He is inspired by a blend of sounds heard in dark minimalist techno whose melody gives way to repetition.
Andrea has been making live set/tracks with samples of ambient sounds modified by software in order to give a custom imprint to his work.

BIO:
Spacedrome is a small collective of young DJs and producers formed by chance in Rome in April 2012.
Fours friends; each from a different Italian city, met in the small clubs of the capital and found that they all had a common passion: the low frequencies. Combining their individual musical experiences Spacedrome was born; an evolving collective whose mission was to spread their new sound across the world.
The fours are attempting to create a space in which to gather the followers of bass music to discover the hidden nuances of the "deep side".
As the name itself suggests; Spacedrome is a collective open to all fans of the genre and they are willing to adopt emerging talents who have no place elsewhere. A passion for music and teamwork are the two ingredients that bring forth so much talent from their members.

Bio:

Alessio Greco is a musician, live performer, producer and DJ. His musical career began in 2001 when he started playing the drums in a punk/hardcore band. After the broke up, he approaches to electronic music and more particularly to ambient and drone. Around the same time he studied electronic music composition at the Music Academy "O. Respighi" in Latina. Over time he approaches to IDM and then to Techno music, falling in love with it. In fact his style is a mix of deep, dark techno and ambient music.

Ambient is about cutting edge, flat structures, encompassing structures, nuturing structures.  Ambient culture is about developing what’s within you.  The main focus is developmental, more than achievement, it’s more process oriented towards spiritual and technological concerns or interests.  It’s an inward thing, but it’s down through technology.  Developing a look with a Macintosh, or developing your sound with certain midi gear, so it isn’t like sitting in a cave playing the shakahatchi or anything.  It can be that simple and encompass that, but it isn’t mostly about organic qualities.  It’s about organic and technological qualities.  – Kim Cascone

Bio:

Matteo Brigatti, aka GANDALF, is one of the founders and resident djs of GENAU, one of the leading techno nights in Northern Italy.

His style is made of a mixture of energetic and traveling tracks, deconstructed and re-constructed through the aid of digital technologies (he was one of the first Italian djs to realize the potential of digital djing) and he is well known as a dj that can really understand and become sympathetic with the dancefloor in front of him.

Today, also thanks to his new residency for the Shout! night in Turin, he’s recognized as one of the most important promoter of techno sounds in Italy both as artist and as event organizer.

Welcome to the 8th Deep Consequences Podcast. A collaboration by Deep Electronics from The Netherlands and Truth or Consequences from Italy.

This months set is a Live Set created by Ethernet and is recorded at his performance in Seattle, WA At the Machine House brewery in February 2015. Enjoy!

Bio:

 Ethernet is the pulse-ambient project of Portland’s Tim Gray, with releases on Kranky, Lifelike Family and many other labels. An MFA graduate of Mills College, Tim wrote his thesis on the use of sound for control, healing and empowerment, and incorporates trance-induction and brainwave entrainment techniques into his productions to create soundscapes conducive to meditation and healing work. Techno’s pounding kick is slowed, muted and recontextualized as a hypnotic pulse, underlining constantly-shifting synthesizer textures and environmental field recordings. Dream-like, perhaps mystical, sounds that one might experience while wandering in the deep wood.
