A Mirrors Depth
In a secluded chamber, a musician created intricate soundscapes. Reflective surfaces adorned the walls, each holding a universe of sonic possibilities. One mirror had a melody that seemed to evade understanding. The musicians touched its surface and surrounded themselves with floating mirrors, each resonating with a different facet of dub techno. In this surreal dimension, the musician realized that these mirrors were the genesis of their inspiration. Embracing the enigmatic mirror, the divergent echoes of dub techno harmonized into a unified symphony, captivating listeners with profound resonance.

Bio/
Miroir, aka David P, is a French DJ based in Saint Nazaire, on the west coast of France. According to David, it all started in 1992 with the discovery of the world of raves and acid house parties and the appearance of the first vinyl record stores, where he spent a large part of his time looking for new releases. His first purchases were from labels like Axis Synewave and djax-up Beats. Then, collectives of DJs based in Nantes regularly invited him to launch their techno evenings, where he played progressive and hypnotic mixes. He was known back then as Dj Dav, and today, it's through Miroir, French for Mirror, that he wishes to share his thoughts and his Deep Dub and Techno influences.

For the 13th episode of the Frontier we have decided to step up and present our own interpretation of what the series is. The Frontier is a series that means a lot to us, it's something that we have talked about wanting to do for a long time and have been very careful in how we want to curate it. From the music, to the artwork, and to the artists we've invited on, every decision has been carefully thought about. 

So with that being said we are proud to present our own mix, coming in at just over 2 hours. We feel this is a good representation of our sound and how we like to develop and build things up over the course of a few hours. 

As with all our Frontier mixes we have not included the tracklist. Feel free to comment below and we will let you know what is being played.

About:

This vinyl-only mix comes from Julius, a devoted dubtechno head with a strong love for the craft. 
Recorded at home using a Xone 92 and a pair of Technics SL1210MK2s, the set flows through deep selections from releases like ALT001, BERGAMON15, WRSR1, ECHOLTD010, and more—warm, textured, and true to the genre's roots.

Julius has been collecting records for years, digging mostly online, and channeling that passion into carefully woven vinyl sets.

Me and Jeroen from Deep Electronics first connected online eight years ago and met in person by coincidence at De Weide Festival in Alkmaar last year.
Looking forward to crossing paths again at this year's edition.

Bio/
Upwellings is a Dub-Techno project created by the protean musician Vincent Raude. Cultivating a minimalist approach to techno and a strong affinity for micro-textures, he produces hypnotic music that draws its roots and techniques from Jamaican dub masters. Numerous EPs have been released on various labels since 2008. These productions have earned him the support of artists such as Alexkid, Laurent Garnier, Cio D'or, etc...and he has been working with labels Telrae ), MOSHItaka, Tiefenrausch, Spclnch, Greyscale, Dimensions Recordings for EPs that were very popular in the Dub-Techno's network. Performing exclusively live, from clubs to festivals, from Berlin to Montreal, it is on stage that Upwellings gives its whole meaning to the word "Dub."
