His much acclaimed "Reduct" series made him stand out as one of the top dub techno producers in the Netherlands and he's still standing strong with a steady stream of releases and remixes on labels throughout the world.

Meeting up on the Interwebz somewhere in '98, a mutual love for drum 'n' bass was the foundation for a great friendship and a musical alliance in multiple genres. After hosting radioshows and DJ'ing for years, Cyance is currently producing and remixing tracks for labels like Mindtrick and Touched. Southern Depot has never lost and will never lose his love for drums, but a new passion for quite the opposite in the musical spectrum surfaced some years back for the both of them: ambient music from light to dark. Together, Cyance and Southern Depot create their 'Aerial Views' ambient mixes.

Darren Harper (b.1970) is an experimental/ambient sound artist residing high within the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Drawing from both electronic and acoustic sources, his compositional output is based entirely on experimentation and improvisation, with a strong emphasis on minimalism, and often reflects a desire for a greater understanding of nature and self, and the relationship therein…

Ambient Sessions # 04 - Darren Harper

My next guest for MLD is Narcotic 303 who runs the appreciated Deeptakt label. We cooperated recently because he did the mastering for my MLD Compilation and through that I got to know his huge experience and knowledge about producing and mixing electronic music. 
So I invited him to contribute with a mix. 
What he provided then was really surprising for me because I didn't espect such a low tempo!  His set is full of mellow deepness together with an ongoing dub vibe. It makes me calm and relaxed, a mix one can listen to on repeat a whole evening while you hang out with friends or doing things for your selfcare. And it fits perfectly to cosy Winterdays and  the magic time between the years - Rauhnächte are here again soon.

About the artist:
In 1996, Narcotic 303 entered the fascinating world of music production for 
the first time - and thus began a journey that led him inexorably into the 
depths of electronic music. He soon took to the turntables, and in 2004 
Narcotic 303 conquered the DJ booths. His musical works are deeply rooted 
in dub techno and techno, and his first single “Aura” found a home on the 
renowned dub techno label DimbiDeep.
But that was just the beginning! With two impressive albums, two acclaimed 
vinyl releases and a multitude of digital releases on labels such as deepindub,
Turmfalke, Deeptakt Records, Dreiton, Insectorama, Solid Capsule Records, 
RNDMZR Records and Note Recordings, he has firmly established himself 
in the scene. His DJ sets are a journey for the senses - 
from atmospheric sounds to pulsating underground techno sets and 
powerful hard techno.

Guestmix Narcotic 303 for MLD

Welcome to the 7th chapter of the Ambient sessions presented by Deep Electronics. This time a set by Spilt Silo from Melbourne, Australia. Bringing us a variaty of his own tracks and samples. He also mixed some of his dubtechno tracks at the end of this mix. But with a lot of ambient sounds in between. 

Bio: 
After merely one year of practice in electronic production, Spilt Silo creates ambient and techno music of an immense soundscape, combining a sensually elevating and frequently hypnotic atmosphere with ominous and rolling lows. Such sounds are held seamlessly together by both the broken and polyrhythmic pattern of Silo’s percussions. His rarely matched enthusiasm and avid listening of techno music, in its broadest definition, has led the aesthetic of Silo’s sound to the influence of various Silent Season artists as well as Canadian ambient producer Tim Hecker, whom Silo supported in Melbourne earlier this year. In the coming month, his debut EP ‘Polly EP,’ featuring a remix by Roberto Facchini will be released through Melbourne/ Glasgow techno label One4SevenOne Records as their ninth release due out 16/04/15.

Multidisciplinary artist and musician born in Madrid (Spain-1979) Lover design, architecture and art in all its expansion, During his youth it is influenced by different music styles as the SintPop, punk rock, metal etc … but it is probably the “Ambient” a deep interest woke it up in his life as artist.

In the late ’90s began his interest in electronic music composition where the influence of ambient, techno and underground deep sounds are shaping their own sound.
In 2011 after a long creative period , decide to shape his new project.

2014 is the year, 3 albums released (SUB.SPIELE , BETYAR RECORDS AND ETOKA RECORDS) and incorporating the exclusive MIXCULT TEAM (Saint Petersburg RUSSIA) ,  are a small introduction of what this artist can say .
Currently immersed in the production of music and exclusive mixes for labels around the world, which will lead your vision of ambient sounds / techno and deep to unknown landscapes.

Poisonoise Music - Guest Mix - EPISODE 251 - SEGENSKLANG

Amsterdam’s Ratherlost crew has spent the past few years perfecting the art of the marathon rave. Their home base is Lofi, a cavernous warehouse where sound, light, and visuals fuse into long-haul journeys that stretch well past the 18-hour mark. But epic runtimes mean nothing without the right hands at the controls, and Ratherlost has proven it knows how to curate, pace, and execute like pros.

Lofi’s two-floor setup allows for shifting moods: daylight hours wander through deep, dubby techno, slowly morphing into faster, syncopated rhythms as night tightens its grip. Pacing is everything in a space like this. And when it comes to the craft of pacing, few do it better than Bas Dobbelaer.

Bas is one of our favorite DJs for a reason. He understands that a warm-up set is an architecture rather than just background noise. It shapes the room, sets the tone, and welcomes dancers into the story. The mix we’re thrilled to share today was recorded live at Ratherlost’s Easter Sunday session at Lofi, where Bas shared the bill with artists like Aaron J, Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi, Aurora Halal, DVS1, upsammy, Occa, Agonis, Dasha Rush, Seb H, and Oscar Mulero. Quite the roster.

In the face of that stacked lineup, Bas delivered a masterclass in restraint and elegance. His three-hour set unfolds like a novel, tracing dub techno’s DNA across the past two decades. The vibe is timeless, spacious, and beautifully measured, a perfect example of how to warm up a warehouse without blowing the doors off too soon.

Nems-B (Nahim Bendjilali) (@nemsb), born in 1979 in Aix-en-Provence, is a French DJ and producer with over 20 years of experience. Rooted in Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Hip Hop, he embraced House and Techno in the mid-90s. Known for his refined selections and technical skills, he runs the podcast/event platforms Phonons (@phonons-net) and Deepness Road. He has performed at top venues across France (Concrète, Glazart, Terminal, La Java, Les Jardins Suspendus) and internationally at Tresor (Berlin), Paral·lel Festival (Spain), Contact (Tokyo), Vurt (Seoul), Gare (Porto), and more. His music has been released on Oslated, Geometrika FM, On Board Music, Goldmin Music, Accent Records, with upcoming EPs on Lemme Records. The best is yet to come.

There’s a special kind of trust when a festival makes someone a resident. For Les Chaos Ambiants, that someone is Lynne. We’ve partnered with this boutique French festival for the second year, sharing the sounds and stories behind their lakeside weekend in the wooded hills of Sommant. The festival thrives on curation that feels personal, lineups that move like chapters in a book, sound systems tuned to catch every detail, and a setting where the air itself seems to carry the low-end.

Lynne embodies that approach. Originally from Japan and now based in London, she’s built a reputation on mixing low-lit atmospheres with rhythm patterns that shift just as you think you’ve caught them. Her triumphant comeback to our podcast series finds her opening the spectrum: warmer tones, space between the beats, a subtle dub pulse, and even flickers of jazz phrasing. Yet the structural backbone remains hers, breaks that fold time and pacing that keeps you just ahead of the next turn. It’s not a departure, it's more like a widening of the frame, perfectly in sync with the spirit of Les Chaos Ambiants.

Delayed x Les Chaos Ambiants: Lynne

Welcome the 104th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. This weeks set is a Live Set created by B Mus.  You can describe his music to a more harder dubtechno genre. As it sounds like more techno based music there is also a lot of dubtechno influences. This live set makes it very interesting which way dubtechno can be created. 


Bio:

Born in 1977 it was in the very early nineties
as i began to fall in love to music in general and
all electronic music in special.
in 1993 i bought my first pair of technis 1210
and started of djing - first at home, later at 
self-organized parties and in clubs of course...

at that point i decided not to try to get  a "pro",
so that i'm always allowed to do whatever i want and what i wanted
was the next step, not just to play music 
- i wanted to make some...

that took a while but around winter 2006/2007 the first
productions were released...

stylistic is everything possible as long as it has a 
some kind of deep, warm, bass heavy and dubby feel...


Calmness is a virtue.

It was in the early nineties, around '93, 
after his first visit of the formerly 
(especially in Germany) well known, 
Palazzo Club when B Mus [Simon Weinheimer] 
found something he knew he would keep his 
life - the love of club music and - culture.

As an autodidact he soon bought his first 
records, two decks and mixer and started DJing. 
The closeness of his hometown Mainz to cities 
like Frankfurt and Cologne (both still hotspots 
today!) abet his passion.

In the following decade the first self organized 
parties and one off gigs came, as well as small 
residencies at local clubs around Mainz and the 
Rhein-Main Area. - And also the conscious decision 
that he doesn't want to become a Pro, so he wouldn't 
have the pressure of always being "hot" to earn money 
to make a living out of it.

Not a Pro, but still deep in love with music it was 
around winter 2006/2007 when his first productions 
came. Influenced by the records he plays as a DJ his 
music is always kind of deep, loop based, echoing 
techno dub in the context of labels 
like Studio 1 and Basic Channel.
