Bio/
Upwellings is a Dub-Techno project created by the protean musician Vincent Raude. Cultivating a minimalist approach to techno and a strong affinity for micro-textures, he produces hypnotic music that draws its roots and techniques from Jamaican dub masters. Numerous EPs have been released on various labels since 2008. These productions have earned him the support of artists such as Alexkid, Laurent Garnier, Cio D'or, etc...and he has been working with labels Telrae ), MOSHItaka, Tiefenrausch, Spclnch, Greyscale, Dimensions Recordings for EPs that were very popular in the Dub-Techno's network. Performing exclusively live, from clubs to festivals, from Berlin to Montreal, it is on stage that Upwellings gives its whole meaning to the word "Dub."

Deep Breakfast 321 ~ Inhmost

Perpendicular Festival unravels as one continuous thread, bending and reforming across days and nights until the sense of time itself begins to dissolve. From Friday afternoon to the first pale hints of Monday light, the forest carries a constant flux of sound, shifting from floor-focused intensity to moments of near-weightless suspension. The turning point comes when the moon hovers over the DJ booth on the main stage and the current draws inward: La Cabaña, a wooden cabin hidden among the pines, becomes the gathering place for music at its most unguarded and exploratory. Here, reality softens, and performances take the shape of dreams.

It was in these hours between Friday and Saturday that STBL opened the portal. His set arrived quietly, almost imperceptibly, whispers in the air, static drifting like dust in moonlight. Slowly, harmonies began to shimmer and unfold, shadowed by pads that seemed to stretch toward some unreachable horizon. Beneath it all, a subtle rumble grew, reassuring, like company long imagined finally appearing at your side. Nothing felt rushed; each sound seemed to wait for the moment it was meant to reveal itself.  

The power of the set lies in its restraint, in the way it suspended time and quietly rewrote it in the minds of those present. A moment like this resists fading; it lingers, carried forward as a story that will be told again and again.

The Quadrasphere 020 - Scavenger

We return with another very special Quadrasphere, and we welcome back our very own Wilson donning his Scavenger alias as he puts together a deep and leftfield ambient mix. With any mix that's ambient leaning, the definition of that ambience can vary from artist to artist and so its always great to experience one that has this level of creativity and originality. As always, you can hear the Quadrant Soundscape energy here, and although most of this mix includes records that you may not yet have heard played on Dub Explorations or the many mixes Wilson has put out there, they certainly would be right at home. This mix is all vinyl, and when reading his thoughts on the creation of this mix, we hope you feel like you're right there with him as he was executing it in the very classy way he has. 

Here are a few words from Scavenger

"This is a mix that I've been wanting to record for probably 6 months. It's something I started thinking about when I was re-ordering my records into the new studio. I came across a little stack of ambient oddities and after having a listen through ideas started to swirl. Some of these records have been on my shelves for 10 years or more without ever really being used in any tangible form and so I decided they needed to see the light of day.

In a way they reflect the sort of things I enjoy listening to at home, usually when it's dark and rainy, certainly moody. There's a nice mix of ambient, down-tempo, roots, Dub and even some spoken word.

I really tried to create an atmosphere through playing these records, some are pitched up , some pitched down, and some are at completely the wrong speed (or the right speed, depending on how you look at it). There's some lovely cracks and pops throughout that I feel only add to the warmth of the mix, as well as being part and parcel of playing vinyl.

This is definitely one to kick back and get horizontal to. Headphones or speakers turned up, and drift away.

The Quadrasphere 020 - Scavenger

Introducing a deeply soothing Unrush mix from DOC - a producer, live act, and founder of Selene Series, whose sound I've been exploring since a friend connected us at this year's Mostra Festival.

For this mix, he delivers something truly special: a warm, comforting sound blanket which spans over almost 3 hours. Moving away from the more experimental edges he often explores, DOC has crafted a mix that feels like a gentle, unhurried stroll.

In his own words:

"Not every mix needs to be ‘a journey’. This mix is a stroll.

A stroll around that feeling of warmth, of tranquility, of comfort. A walk in circles around different iterations of beautiful music to soothe your senses. Because sometimes, the act of walking is the destination in itself. And when we are not going anywhere, just being for the sake of being, there is no rush. We are unrushed."

From late night sets in Miami to blowing our minds at Burning Man, it became pretty apparent to us early on that Öona Dahl is a trippy chick.  Her music, her style, and everything about Öona is fascinating and it's been an absolute pleasure getting to know her over the years. We knew we had to bring her into the Desert Hearts Family after an extended time hanging with her at Pile Palace in 2016. We wanted to give her a time slot that allowed her to flex her musical versatility and we knew there's no better time to spread those wings than Sunday sunrise. BIOGRAPHY :

Antonio Valente was born and currently lives in Florence. He bought his first record player in 1997, and from then on, he started his restless and continuo us search for vinyl records. This passion led him to discover and deepen his knowledge of different musical genres — mainly techno and house music, but also jazz, funk, soul and disco thanks to his V I M A N A project. A lover of synthesizers and analogue instruments, he bought his first electronic battery, a Roland TR909, in 1999. During the years, he acquired multiple machines and established his own recording studio called "S.Marta Tech-Studio // SMTS", where he taught himself music production. Since 1999, he has released more than 100 records, both in digital and vinyl format. Today, he is still supported by many artists of the international dance scene, such as Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Technasia, and Seth Troxler, who often play his productions. In 2017, he won the JagerMusicLab, a competition organized by Jagermeister and the Italian duo "The Reloud" aimed at finding new talent in the Italian electronic music scene. After his victory, his performance at the world-renowned Movement Torino Music Festival, alongside some of the best DJs, such as Denis Sulta, Patrick Topping, and Kerri Chandler, allowed Antonio to gain great visibility in the international scene. After having performed in many Italian clubs, he was also able to leave his mark in other countries like Spain, Germany, and Serbia... His continuous musical research makes his DJ sets eclectic and versatile, managing to excite curiosity even to the most expert ears.
