Welcome to the 3rd showcase podcast. This time mixed by Apobothra. A mix full of ambient, deep dub and soundscapes. 

Bio:

Aleksei Klimkin (Apobothra) is a Moscow based electronic music producer who has been inspired by such musicians as The Future Sound of London, Autechre, Biosphere, Brian Eno, Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound, DeepChord / Echospace, ASC / Mindpsan, bvdub, Fluxion, Quantec, Fingers In The Noise and others. Starting with drum&bass in 2006 his tastes have gradually shifted to deeper electronic music such as dub techno, deep techno and ambient. Many of his tracks have been supported by some big names on the scene. His first release with Apobothra alias was released on Spaceal Orbeats label in the end of 2013 and simultaneously became his first album. It is called ‘In Search for an Explanation’ and the production style there is based on author’s intoxication by science and particularly by astrophysics.
In real life "Apobothra" is an astronomical term whose meaning is quite similar to "Apogee", but while Apogee is the point of greatest distance between the Earth and its orbiting object, Apobothra is the furthermost point on the Black Hole orbit.

Deep Electronics Podcast Showcase # 03 - Apobothra

Welcome to the 4th Deep Electronics Podcast Showcase. This time a set from Room of Wires. This IDM / Electronic set that they made is a mixture of there own tracks and sounds but also tracks  that give them inspiration to create there music. Enjoy this 4th special set!!

Bio:
It’s not easy to find out about them, they are extremely cautious of their identities not just to the world but also to each other. RoW was formed in late 2013 after a spontaneous email, the only thing that binds them together now, is their love of uneasy music. We know the duo come from the UK, 1-Midlands and 1-South, but that’s as far as the detail goes, they don’t talk about themselves they talk only about their love of electronic music. Influences range from SPK, Test Dept, and Eyeless in Gaza to the more recent Raime, Patten and Ekoplekz.
They’re sound is hard to pin down, there’s hints of Autechre in there, but their songs just build and creep up on you, twisted yet beautiful. Melodic and mantra-like synths are weaved together with twisted beats and almost inaudible field recordings to maintain their uneasy sound. A mix of software, modular hardware, and a massive collection of home brewed samples are their tools.
With track names including Train Jacker, and Asylum Sneaker again, they display this playful but dark side. Their first video – Train Jacker, was recently created by Cesar Naves, and continues the dark, hard to fathom style…
The one thing they do both agree on is that there’s plenty more to come from Room of Wires.

With a cold air track (COG) on the forthcoming Shimmering Moods CD compilation Meditations 2 KIENE from the pacific northwest, USA, comes with a deep mix called Spirometry…..Enjoy!

Science fiction, cold weather, and existentialism inspired this mix. KIENE titled it "Spirometry" because it felt like the first half of the mix is voiceless--as if one is breathing in the shock and awe of a catastrophe. The second half of this mix is more vocal and is, in his interpretation, a metaphorical "exhale". Spirometry refers to a medical test that determines how well your lungs work: the amount of air you inhale and the amount you exhale. In this sense, KIENE inhales the cold and calculated ambient soundscape of ASC, RQ, bvdub, autumna, and himself. Only to exhale a human understanding of failure, regret, and hopelessness through the voices of Khonnor, Snow Ghosts, and Helios. As much as he loves electronic music, there will always be a longing for the acoustic and for the human nature of music, which he believes is the rawest form of expression. This mix is kind of like a spirometry test…….KIENE in the mix.

Welcome to 11th  chapter of the Deep Electronics Showcase. Mixed by Owen Ni.
This is the very first podcast in 2015 and it’s immediately a blast because Owen shows his tribute to the Load and Clear Netlabel based in Louvain la Neuve, Belgium. 
There released a lot of good albums and mixes from known artists like: Substak, Ocralab, Fabio Scalabroni, As If, Urenga, Andrea Porcu and so on. Owen has tried to contact the label for this tribute but they didn’t responed yet. So we don’t really know if the label is still active. But for now enjoy this mix he created to give you a taste of Load and Clear Netlabel.

Welcome to the 27th chapter of the Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. This monthly released podcast brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. 

This month set is mixed by Ryan Griffin, owner of A Strangely Isolated Place.

An introduction:

I rarely approach mixes with a concept in mind and often find them developing organically in the process. I did however, want this mix to be a deep journey, which was hard, as I've been listening to lots of melodic synthesizer music recently, so I had to get in the right mind-set for it. I started to picture space, and was partly inspired by this video for an Alva Noto track which is a spectacular combination of imagery and sound. The mix ended up being an accompanying soundtrack to some kind of failed rocket launch - starting with optimism, becoming more intense, experiencing glitches and more dramatic moments along the way, and finally falling back down to earth and more recognizable, familiar ground. It's a little cliché for an ambient mix- but I find it extremely relaxing to picture a journey along the way and felt this one came together quite nicely if listened to as a whole.
