Multifunctional cyber glasses were not going to be a part of the spy arsenal any time soon, unless absolutely necessary. Spacelunch’s invention, which was waiting to be tested, ironically became a message through time to himself. A mess at work, as well as burglary, were commonplace even in emergencies. The piles of archive boxes did not bother Cat, who was skimming the information downloaded from a micro-SD.

"The tables with the estimates of operational characteristics – not it. The ballistic calculations – not it again... Found it!" — the tail rising with joy became an indicator of hope for a successful rescue operation. The formula of the superspeed elixir was looking seductively at him. All that was left to do was to upload the acquired data and analyse it upon returning to the lab. The silent jubilation was interrupted by the ear-splitting wail of the siren signalling that there was no room for mistake.

Participation mystique refers to the innate human connection to symbolic and imaginative experiences. This symbolic realm exists before or alongside our ability to think analytically or rationally. The idea is strongly linked to projection, as these symbolic or mythic elements naturally extend themselves into the world around us—into people, places, and things, just like how we unconsciously assign color to what we see.

Participation mystique is not just a psychological concept, but an aesthetic principle – a lens through which we perceive art as more than just something we observe; it becomes something inhabited.

In artistic terms, participation mystique can be thought of as a dissolving boundary between the self and the image. In this perspective, any manifestation of art can be perceived not just as an external object, but as an extension of the viewer’s unconscious. Colors, shapes, and atmosphere resonate with inner archetypes – mythical, primordial, emotional – before the mind can name them. This is why abstract compositions can seem hauntingly familiar, or why certain symbols – like a spiral, a doorway, or a shady forest – draw out something ancient, deep, and unconscious from us.

Participation Mystique

Motel Nowhere is a drifting, atmospheric downtempo gem that captures the feeling of being on the road in the vast, rural openness. An old sign in the distance where a motel once sat now overgrown with weeds and bushes.

Emerald Rain is a layered, evolving soundscape that flows in deep growling waves of controlled distortion at its core offset by gliding synths and shimmering guitars. Best played loud to capture the energy of this track at its fullest.

Both tracks were created in the the studio but as always with Montane District material there's a live, spontaneous, organic angle to our process that we feel makes the sound unique to the usual formulaic "ambient" tailored for streaming playlist placement.

The lights were low and dim in this place as the clock approached midnight, he should probably take himself home but somehow she has sparked his imagination. He glanced upwards again as the music buzzed softly in the background. She was looking right back. He drew a short breath for she'd caught him off guard. Staring at one another he began to see into the eye, the beauty in the gaze.

Kyrro alias George Kury, grew up in the nineties playing electric guitar and experimenting with synthesizers.
He produces analogue soundscapes using hardware tools with a mix of raw elements and a modern touch.
Based in Amsterdam he is constantly shaping deep and ambient electronics into his sound while he continues on exploring new musical horizons.
