XYZ and When We Dip present the Selectors series, where we give our family of producers an opportunity to display their prowess behind the decks. Expect unreleased material from across the label collective, as well as classic gems and heady grooves from some of the underground's finest selectors.

Continuing the showcase of the talent behind Koelle & Reza Safinia’s ‘Reverie’ Remixes, we're excited to have Niki Sadeki on the decks for episode 102 of XYZ Selectors. Fresh off her ‘Into The Woods’ release on the label, the Iranian-Canadian producer delivers a mix nothing short of mesmerizing. 

Her take on the original track embraces an upfront arpeggio and a pumping ride cymbal. These core elements offer the backdrop to an arrangement rounded by chimes, lush pads, and counter-melodies, culminating in a dreamy, soothing tune.

Being a true Yoga lover, she is the co-founder of Music & Yoga Project. She is also organiser at Otro Mundo Gathering and curator at Christine Never Came club night project.

Rich Towers is an DJ/Producer from Manchester (UK) He got the bug for dance music from his first trip to Ibiza in 2011 and started DJ'ing shortly after but didn’t get into production until 2020 and already has releases on 3rd Avenue, Bekool & RYNTH to name a few and has got more exciting projects in the pipe line. Organic, Progressive House and Melodic Techno are the main styles that he loves to play for his listeners. He runs a party in Manchester with fellow Dj/Producer and friend Mazayr called 'Right Frequency'. They've had successful events at some of the great clubs across Manchester over the past 5 years.

I’m super happy to share this special recording with you guys from what was not only my first time playing stereo, but was one of the most treasured musical moments of my journey so far. 

Being invited by one of my best mates to bring in the new year together in this temple of music and dance was something I’ll never forget. The energy in the room that night was so special. We were surrounded by many of our best friends, some family and the most dedicated Montreal music community as well as some friends and dancers who had travelled from the US and other parts of Canada to be there with us. 

I opened things up before Mik (Kora) took over for another 4 hours or so and then we finished things b2b for another 4 hours. 

After countless nights/days at our studio playing together with a small group of close friends, it was something we had dreamt of doing at Stereo and somehow even though the club was sold out, it still felt like an extension of those intimate experiences. Where it feels like connecting authentically to the music and to each other is not just a celebration or a party, but collective therapy. United energy, everyone channeling their joy and their pain, their love and their gratitude through the music. There are few places where this still feels possible and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to play there and do it alongside someone that has become like family to me.

I hope you enjoy it and cary a glimpse of that energy with you 🙏🏼

Deep Stories is a collective of DJ/producers, writers and photographers with a passion for storytelling in all possible ways. In their universe, sounds, words and images form a complementary unity, so that the audience can absorb all these different sensations at the same time. With this unprecedented vision in mind, DJ’s The Doubljuh and Kork founded the Deep Stories podcast series in 2016, which was enthusiastically received by a rapidly growing community. By amalgamating different lifestyle areas (literature, photography, music) many people quickly became enthused by this innovative project and within a year the Deep stories Soundcloud channel reached the mark of 10K followers before smashing the 20K milestone the following year.
