2014 saw Steyoyoke Recordings put the finishing touches to their artist roster and the label is now experiencing an ongoing creative continuum, bringing Steyoyoke to its current state of musical solidarity. ‘Family Affair Vol.04’ is a testament to this, as it provokes new inspiring ways for the artists to inspire and influence each other. Split across two separate releases, Part 1 and Part 2, “Family Affair Vol.04’ comprises of 9 remixes, which sees all the Steyoyoke artists adding their own personal flavours to some of 2014’s biggest tracks.

Part 1.
Soul Button’s remix of ‘First Glimpse’ by Aki Bergen is the curtain raiser. Possessing a little more energy than the original, this remix boasts an alluring new intensity and vibe. It is captivating and uplifting.
Next up, is Aaryon’s remix of Soul Button & Talul’s ‘Chasing Thoughts’. Building upon the intricate layers already existing within the original, Aaryon intertwines edgier synth flurries and a more sinister bass line.
‘Hydra’ by Animal Picnic is remixed by Nick Devon, who chooses to focus on the originals unyielding drive. Nick really draws out the true ruthlessness of this track, with techno influences infiltrating this remix from start to finish.
Dahu takes on the remix of Aki Bergen’s ‘Helix’ and he customises it with some menacing elements. He does however maintain the originals “raw minimal techno groove” and garnishes this with industrial style accents.
The final track on Part 1 is Ran Salman’s version of ‘7th Heaven’ by Soul Button. Opting for a slightly punchier sound, Ran enlivens his remix by incorporating a few extra synth riffs and a bouncer bass line.

A rolling bass line from the very beginning.
No rest and no compromises that is how we no the dancefloor tunes by Rafael Cerato. Grooving synth lines and a dark vibe in it will bring the right club feeling. The collab with Anton Dhouran and Jonatan Backelie as singer is more deep and melodic. Starting totally chilled and soulful this track will be the right one to come down. At least “Torino“ with Martin Kremser brings some bleeps and epic breaks. The sun is back and we can’t wait to dance outside to this tune.

Opener Circles is a tangle of dreamy pads and wistful vocals, with gleaming synths and undulating drums complementing Felix Raphael’s pensive lyrical incantations.

A walk on the tribal side, Kala combines introspective melodies with relentless percussion. Indigenous chants accent the mystic rave atmosphere, building up to an immersive, hypnotizing climax. Equally mesmerizing, but channeling a more constant energy is Amari, taking us on a dynamic journey with occasional bursts of sonic color. Deep Stories is a collective of DJ/producers, writers and photographers with a passion for storytelling in all possible ways. In their universe, sounds, words and images form a complementary unity, so that the audience can absorb all these different sensations at the same time. With this unprecedented vision in mind, DJ’s The Doubljuh and Kork founded the Deep Stories podcast series in 2016, which was enthusiastically received by a rapidly growing community. By amalgamating different lifestyle areas (literature, photography, music) many people quickly became enthused by this innovative project and within a year the Deep stories Soundcloud channel reached the mark of 10K followers before smashing the 20K milestone the following year. Driven by the enormous positive feedback, the team has expanded and founded its own music blog. This allows the audience to stay informed about new releases, events and upcoming gigs, in addition to weekly charts and tips for the weekend planning for electronic music lovers. The latest addition is the new booking feature, by which the artists of the Deep Stories crew can be booked for deep house and techno parties. Thus, the Deep Stories project consists of three components: the podcast series, the music blog and the booking area. Over the years the team has also grown and many partnerships have been sealed. Among other things, there is a close collaboration with other podcast channels, travel blogs and even street artists, fueling yet even more creative minds…

Freshly hatched and fancifully feathered, DJ and producer Yannek Maunz supplies the world with deep, melodic and synth based melodic house beats he cooks up in his shambolic bedroom studio in Berlin Kreuzberg. From his very first release on, he managed to manifest a signature sound made up of analog synths, organic percussion and a knack for memorable melodies. Over the last two years this sound has been continuously pushing its way through dancing crowds and streaming platforms. Despite a steady stream of releases on established labels like Parquet, 3000°, Bar 25, Stil vor Talent, Dantze and Katermukke, he co-founded his own label YION in 2021. Here, he not only releases music under his own name but also as a part of Feral Garden – an experimental project that combines deep house beats with the general aesthetic of indietronica.
