The end of July is etched in the minds of every Coldharbour Citizen, as they unite annually to celebrate Markus Schulz and Coldharbour Recordings’ storied journey in grand fashion.

And on the day the label celebrates its 10th anniversary, we at Coldharbour are very proud to showcase some of the world’s most talented producers to the world on such a regular basis.

Motiu Sorin aka Motiv was born in Oradea, Romania owner at Dinsubsol booking agency and Got Trapped Music. 

Motiv started DJ career at 19 while he was studying at university, but this was only for his own pleasure. After few years of residency and many gigs he had the opportunity to share his desk with local and international DJs such as Vera , Andrey Pushkarev , Markus Homm , Barac, Nu Zau, Ada Kaleh, Ali Nasser , Plusculaar, Dubphone, Negru , Adrian Eftimie and many others. Motiv came up to satisfy our needs and rolled up production of fierce basslines punched by movie cuts and old Romanian Folklore sounds. The sound of afterhours flavored Romanian techno - minimal to prove that the western side of Romania has a lot more to offer! 

Motiv is artist of following labels : Vandalism Musique, Got Trapped, Wavetech Muisc, Attrakt Records and soon his own label Dinsubsol (Vinyl Only). Motiv is playing romanian minimal-techno.

With a career that started in France, but spent predominantly in Italy, Idriss has become as hugely popular name on the circuit over the last few years, playing regularly at clubs like Echoes, Cocorico and Red Zone. 

Along with Fabrizio Maurizi, Idriss set up the Memento label in 2006, and has gone on to become a highly respected label that has released music from the likes of Argy, Okain, Blue Mondays, gAs and Idriss himself.  As a producer, Idriss has kept his productions exclusively for Memento, but also remixed for imprints like Mazoom Lab and Monique Musique

With DJ gigs coming up at Watergate and Cocorico this month, his Source to Cycle, recorded as a vinyl only Source set, and mixed on CDs for his Cycle set, perfectly encapsulates the current sounds and the influences from back in the day that showcases his style.

Teaming up : Kaiser Souzai & Alberto Ruiz. 

Ballroom Records deliver once again on quality techno with a well matched collaboration between Spanish techno mastermind, Alberto Ruiz and rising Berlin duo, Kaiser Souzai - dropping exclusively on Beatport 21st September and at all other stores on 5th October is 'Tarzan'. 

Clashing ride symbols, tribal percussions and repititive synths make up this addictive synth led monster that continuously builds, opens and develops into a momentous dance floor killer.

Beatport techno chart king Alberto Ruiz is a perfect addition to Ballroom, with his productions heavily supported by the likes of Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox and Solomun (to name only a few). Having produced and remixed with artists such as Monika Kruse, Coyu, Noir and Pig&Dan, Alberto's recognition within the genre is second to none.

Teaming up with Ruiz are label bosses Kaiser Souzai, techno tastemakers in their own right who have steadily built up a name within the Berlin techno arena. Having already dropped releases on Trapez, Go Deeva, Subliminal and Kinetica and remixed Booka Shade, Dave Seaman and Olivier Giacomotto, the duo have created an outlet for their creativity and on point taste in music with Ballroom Records.

Wild, open and upfront, 'Tarzan' will sweep techno lovers of their feet and into an undergrowth of hard hitting drums; primal instincts taking over.

Aus einer Welle von Disco-Brause wurde diese Tante vor 3 Jahren ans Korallenriff auf dem Meeresrausch angespült. Seit je her werden für den DJ aus Göttingen die Tage kürzer und die Nächte länger. Mit dem Flora&Fauna Kollektiv und den ersten Gigs im Stilbrvch ging es raus in die Welt der elektronischen Unterhaltungskunst. Seine Ursprünge liegen, wie es das Tempo vermuten lässt, im Reggae aber auch Keta-Pop, Slow-House und wabernde Bässe sowie Disco & Trash aller Art finden sich in seinen Sets wieder.

Erste Internationale Bookings beschritt er dann 2015 mit Sebastian Dali aus Lübeck unter anderem in Amsterdam, Utrecht und Basel und weiter zog es die beiden Bauch an Bauch in diverse Clubs des Landes (Bollwerk, Kater Blau, Kultstätte Keller, MS Treue, Dots) sowie auf diverse kuschlige Open-Air-Veranstaltungen.

Anfang des Jahres ging es dann ins Studio, wo sie in diesem Jahr gemeinsam 3 Tracks & Remixes produzierten (u.a. für Muttis Mischkonsum & NixxNeues).
 
Für den Sommer haben die beiden ihre Tasche vollgepackt mit Tracks und sind hoch motiviert Festivals wie das Feel, Katzensprung & Just Breathe bespielen zu dürfen!

Noch ein paar persönliche Worte von der Tante Dante ;-)

Die Connection zu Afterhour Sounds kam durch unzählige wunderbare Stunden, die ich in Berlin mit Tonelite und den lieben Menschen des Gedankenklang eV. verbringen durfte.  (Herzgruß und ein fettes Dankeschön an dieser Stelle!)

Für die Meute von Afterhour Sounds habe ich mein Set vom Meeresrausch 2016 noch mal neu aufgenommen und mit ein paar Schmuckstücken verfeinert um euch einen Einblick in den Groove, der Peenemünde seit X Jahren jeden Sommer zu einem unvergesslichen 3-Tages-Moment werden lässt, zu geben. Als Mitglied der Meeronauten werde ich euch in den nächsten Jahren noch die eine oder andere Morgenstunde auf der Insel versüßen.

"I have no words to explain the mix of feelings and emotions I felt when I received the invitation to play at White Ocean. Knowing all my favourite DJs and producers, including some of my biggest inspirations and idols would be there as well, made the experience the biggest honour of my musical career to date.

 The reality of this opportunity did not set in until I was finally up on the decks getting ready to hit the play button… 

After struggling for a few years to obtain my US visa, sharing this moment with the White Ocean family on the first night of my first Burn was surreal.

This is my small, yet very meaningful contribution to the stage I’ve always loved and admired. The memories of that night will be forever in my heart. I still dream of that beautiful crowd, and the energy of that night.
