Polish duo Catz n Dogz have released two albums and a string of singles to date through Mothership, a sub-label of Claude Vonstroke's Dirtybird Records, and created their own label Pets Recordings in 2010, releasing the likes of Groove Armada and Eats Everything. Their most recent album - 2010's 'Escape From Zoo' - featured collaborations with Jazzanova's Paul Randolph and Claude Vonstroke himself, and was celebrated for its funk-driven basslines and experimental cross-genre approach.

Sadar Bahar's dreams are captured in grooves. After years and years of digging deep for records, the Chicagoan built a collection that's too big to fit in his house. Although he has collected more records than he could possibly play, his search doesn't stop, and drops by our store from time to time to see dig the racks.

Bahar got into the music scene in the early '80s, with childhood friend, Charles Brekenridge, who introduced him to the mixing game and taught him how to blend records. Later, Frankie Knuckles showed him the magic of the dance floor. During this time, Chicago was filled with DJ’s who played house and disco sounds. However, Sadar chose a different direction - playing rare & hard-to-find grooves. It is an honor to present this mix, that features a selection picks found in the RH store racks on the day.

This is the second in a series of Rush Hour Store mixes, where we invite our favorite artists and DJs to dig the bins and record us a mix on the spot. Click on the links below for more info on the featured tracks.

HEIST Podcast #8 - Nachtbraker

This is the set I played at Deciliters Outdoor (saturday the 4th of July 2015, Cultuurplein, Apeldoorn). It was the hottest day of the year so I decided to add some really funky forgotten gems on 12 inch next to my New York Garage routine (records like MAW, Nathaniel X Project, Dennis Ferrer, E-Smoove). One of the Technics tended to skip alot, so I had to make some emergency corrections. I hope you'll like the set anyway though. For me it brings good memories of a sunny day with happy people...
