Cologne’s Motip White is back on When We Dip XYZ with ‘The Infinite Edge’ EP, a two-tracker which showcases Motip’s songwriting prowess coupled with his signature raw, grimy sound.

On the title track, ‘The Infinite Edge’ the twists and turns of the bass progression make way for the celestial melodies and gritty drums. The hopeful harmony and upbeat vocals contrasts with White’s lyrics speaking of losing his mind in an ever-confusing world which keeps on moving faster and faster. 

On ‘Straight To The Sun’, the saturated combo of vocals and guitar lead the way. The raspy bassline and the triplet kicks interact with the hats and shakers invigorating the groove. White’s hummed vocals in the break lighten the mood, pulling hips and ears straight to the Springtime sun.

Through an effervescent bass sequence, clever filter control and kinetic drum work, Budakid generates consistent motion from start to finish. Euphoric melodies are layered as the track gathers lucency before a wide open breakdown renders a patch of interstellar drifting. Distant snares snap overhead as the bass sequence courses into focus, reeling the listener back into the pilot's seat toward a vibrant conclusion. 'The Curse' then illuminates some gooey, 90's memories. Nostalgic chords are given buoyancy by snappy, Bicep-esque breaks and a pair of synth lines that are braided together - tumbling over one another as they carry the tracks energy. A sense of contrast and tension imbues the groove throughout another voyage that's guaranteed to soundtrack many memorable dance floor moments.'

When We Dip XYZ presents the ‘Swim In Memories' EP from producers Presia and Roo. Presia has released on respected imprints such as Isolate, microCastle & Moodmusic, crafting high-quality cuts under his very own ‘Grunge House' sub-genre. Roo stormed the scene recently with a collaboration on Samer Soltan's Sanctuary Music, which was remixed by Marcus Worgull. He's also brought some of the most interesting artists in the scene to his hometown of Amman, Jordan, under the Vudu and U Roof brands.

On the eponymous ‘Swim In Memories', subtle chords match the soothing vocals from Presia speaking of healing one's soul through calming the mind. The arp and horn-like pluck rise in intensity as they lead the way through the electronic ballad.

‘Cut' showcases a sharp jump in energy as ethereal vocal chops and the ‘Cut' ad-lib rest on a sharp snare and bulky kick. The table is set for Presia who delivers a spirited guitar solo straight from the hip.

‘Until It Breaks' conveys a melancholic feel as the breakbeat groove and saturated bass is complemented by the evolving pads, arps and textures.

On the final track, the post-rock induced ‘Guelai', a robotic voice narrates its poetry through the industrial textures, watery glitches and risers.

Born and raised in Burgos, Spain, Yamil has been delivering high-quality, high-charting house music for several years now. He draws on a rich world of Afro-inspired sounds and cultures and brings classy percussion and deep vibrations. He has landed on the likes of Sol Selectas and MoBlack while also playing plenty of notable clubs and festivals around the world and picking up support and plays from mainstays like Black Coffee and Solomun. After collaborating with G.Zamora on this label in the past, he now returns with a fantastic solo outing.

Opener 'Nimbe' is an enchanting and escapist track that takes you deep to the heart of a spiritual gathering with jazzy trumpet motifs. Layers of rhythmic vocal chants and spoken words will soon entice dancers as the uplifting melodies soar. 'Amonunde' is just as authentic and well crafted, this time with a more late-night feel and rolling beats embellished with shakers, starry melodies and smoky, soulful vocals. The fantastic 'Cotonú' closes down with an elegant and empowering mix of bold chords and warm, rubbery drums offset by more plaintive piano keys and another mesmerising vocal delivery.
