Alright, here they are: our TOP 20 of the Chymera "Fathoms" remix competition in cooperation with Juno Download. We received many remixes and it was not an easy task to whittle them down to only 20. 

The overall quality level was high and inevitably there are remixes we didn't choose which maybe also deserved to be a part of the selection. However, we tried to remain as objective as possible. 

The following criteria were important to us: Creative use of the parts, technical skills, general feeling and in the end, personal taste. Furthermore we tried to find a balance between remixes which stayed close, but with a unique twist to the original, and versions which developed in another direction. 

Afterall we are very happy with our Top 20 now and we hope you like them as much we do. 

We would like to say a big thank you to all participants for their submissions and we hope you had fun working with the parts. 

PLEASE KEEP YOU REMIX PRIVATE UNTIL WE HAVE CHOSEN OUR FINAL WINNERS. AFTERWARDS YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PRESENT YOUR REMIX ON YOUR SOUNDCLOUD PROFILE.

We're going into the second round of remix extracts for Of Norway's 2014 album “Accretion”. Already the frst release with remixes by Adriatique and Lehar for the wonderful “Spirit Lights” was and still is a big success and we are sure the interpretation for “It's You” we will be equally successful.

The original is a Kraut-House epic with the haunting vocals of Norwegian singer Lois, and for us from Connaisseur one our favourites from the album.

Just like most tracks from Of Norway, “It's You” is an original predestined to be remixed.
First on the remix duties is Eric Volta, an artist we highly appreciate, mostly known for his releases on No.19 and Visionquest, as well as a bunch of amazing remixes. He is a thoroughbred musician and massive talent. His way of building up his tracks is extraordinary, he doesn't just tell stories with his tracks, he tells fairly tales. Mystic, surprising and touching is also his interpretation for “It's You”. We were (ohne almost) speechless when we we heard it for the frst time. A track for a special moment and perfect for Connaisseur. We are in love with it!

The second remix comes from The Drifter, the third man of the Maeve collective next to Mano Le Tough and Baikal. 2015 seems to be his year, as what he has delivered so far in the past months is pure bliss. His remix for “It's You” is further proof for his unstoppable rising success. With his interpretation he starts smoothly but quickly builds up an alluring tension, setting several freak-out moments for the club with his breaks. We are sure you will hear his wonderful version very often on the dancefoors in the next months.

Bachir Salloum, a native of Beirut and its outskirts, was first hypnotized by music at the tender age of 13 when his older brother introduced him to vinyls-and thus it began…His love and affinity for music grew as he started mixing and DJ’ing at 16. He is known for his electronic music with a progressive feel that mixes tech and house music. This artist’s music is difficult to put into words but one can say his beats clasp with a billowing vibe that journeys through something of a tunnel of music, channeling smooth waves and heavenly notes altogether as one; making his sound one creative quest for inner flight.

In the past years, Bachir has had the opportunity to play alongside several international artists including jozif, King Unique, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Kevin Di Serna, Eelke Kleijn, YokoO and Marcelo Vasami.

Andshe fuhr letztens mit uns nach Leipzig zum Auftakt unserer zweiten Sea-Watch Solitour und begeistert uns direkt, sowohl  künstlerisch als auch menschlich. Als Teil der Kollektive @kybelean und @rolandsons-seasidetrip war sie uns schon sehr nah, doch nun lernten wir sie endlich persönlich kennen und luden sie auch gleich zu unserem neu aufgelegten Resocast ein.
Sie ist DJ und Produzentin und veröffentlichte ihren ersten Track in der Hystereofonica Compilation über @tropicaltwistarecords. Mit einer erstaunlichen Sensibilität erkundet sie die Grenzen des Downtempo-Genres und lässt raushören, dass sie von der dunklen Berliner Szene beeinflusst und begeistert ist. So wie wir von ihr!

With its shimmering and powerful synths and the demanding cow bells, the release opener „Gabbro“ captures your imagination right from the start. Combined with the rock-solid electro inspired drumming, this tune is a state-of-the-art production.

„Obsidian“ is a rather timeless, almost meditative deep house variation. Trippy sound sprinkles buzz around the stoic but hypnotizing groove, until it gets wrapped up in a warm blanket of classy chords. Afterparty calling! 

„Bims“, the German word for Pumice, is a real lightweight. An airy but intense ambient track where YOKTO probes the field of tension between meditative synths and deep basses.

Slow Nomaden is the new side project of Tobias Kroschel, the head behind Sound Nomaden to express his passion for deeper sounds and influences from around the globe. In his DJ Sets and productions he takes the listener on an electronic journey through sounds of different cultures and spheres.

Already his first EP „Jungle“ released on 3000Grad Records in late 2017 got huge support from within the global tastemaker scene including Nico Stojan, Damian Lazarus, Riva Starr, Igor Marijuan just to name a few. In 2018 Slow Nomaden released his next EP called „Gondwana“ on his own label Nu Boheme Recordings. Gondwana was received even better and has reached more than 450.000 plays on spotify to date and was playlisted by several international radio stations and DJ’s. His next EP’s called „Elephant Dream“ and „Vasudeva“ both entered the Beatport Top100 Releases in their Genre Afro House and Electronica/Downtempo. A new year, a new decade. For me, I felt a strong desire for cleaning, cleaning my studio, cleaning my travelbag which I use soooo often and is with me more than half of the year. Cleaning my kitchen, getting rid of the toxic, non PFOA-free frying pan. A new start of a cleaner me. Being closer to purity. And it feels good, very good. I don’t need a lot of material, the material I want is my studio gear, a nice mattress to sleep on and nice healthy cooking gear with natural produce and ingredients. And so there is less distraction around me so I can focus in a more clean way on music and spending time with my loved ones. With that in mind I made this new podcast. Enjoy the ride and hope to see you somewhere on this planet in 2020 or another time this decade. Smile and be kind, love and feel loved, sounds to me as a good start of every day.

Raised in a family with a multicultural background and diverse musical influences,  Sobhan was exposed to different genres from an early age, ranging from Rock and Blues to Reggae, Spanish, French, Indian, classical and Persian music.

His interest in music and especially rhythm led him to play different traditional Persian and western beat instruments such as Daf (Tambourine) and drums. Later, he became particularly interested in electronic music which led him to pursue DJing.

Since migrating to Australia in 2011, Sobhan has been exploring his interest in electronic music and won one of the most prestigious DJ competitions in 2012, Habitat. Since then  https://soundcloud.com/sobhanofficial  supported the likes of &ME, Budakid, Matthias Meyer, HNQO, Oxia, Just Her, Way Out West - to name a few. His exposure to both electronic music and traditional Persian music in his home-country and in Australia led him to start his own electronic music production. His sounds are influenced by his musical roots and upbringing, embracing the nomadic sounds from around the world and expressing them within a modern context, creating fusions which can transcend time and place. His music is also influenced by some of his favorite producers such as Armen Miran, Hraach, Kora, DJ Sabo, NU, who have a similar approach in embracing raw and primitive global nomadic sounds.

Through his work, he attempts to create musical journeys that connect the listener to sounds that tell a story, stories of our shared human experiences, through chants, songs and sounds that are new and yet familiar. Sounds that trigger raw emotions, of longing and of homecoming, connecting us to the core of being.


His productions on labels such as Ready Mix Records, Art Vibes Records, Kosa Records, and Monada Project have gained the support of artists such as Hraach, Armen Miran, Kora, UNDERS, Maga, Be Svendsen, Niki Sadeki, Zone+, Anatolian Sessions, Savvas, VieL, George X, BiG AL aka BiGz, Amine K, and many more.
Sobhan’s passion for deep, mystical and fusion sounds has recently led him to kickstart a new musical night in Perth, Western Australia under the name ‘Solouk’. Solouk is a Farsi word which translates to ‘The journey of the mystic’. In Solouk, Sobhan and a number of like-minded friends and artists come together to bring an artistic experience delivered through audio/visual medium and introduce a musical journey around the world through their various global sounds. Solouk events have so far attracted much attention and support through the music loving community."

Endless Path by Sobhan

Originally hailing from Tunis, but having clearly arrived on the global scene nearly a decade ago, https://soundcloud.com/khalil-touihri  has long since cemented his name in the pages of dance music industry.

The Tunisian's career begun around 2008 with winning the national Dj Mix competition in his country. After touring clubs, making clubbers discover underground music, a music that is going to be some years later the main sound of clubbing in Tunis, He soon get involved in studio work.

After some first months at the studio, His Edit of Daniele Papini & Ricardo Ferri "Los Draio" got premiered on Hernan Cattaneo's podcast. That encouraged the young man to make his debut release in collaboration with some talented producers friends like Wez Saunders who happens to be now the managing director of Defected Records, One of the biggest labels in the industry.

Short after that, Kay came up with "I'm Dead Twice", a major success in the music industry, with plays from Hernan Cattaneo and Markus Schulz in addition to great support and feedbacks from all around the world. His collaboration with the ukrainian producer Gvozdini got featured on Pole Folder radioshow, and played live by Sasha in Woodstock Bloemendaal (NL). His rework of the the classic "Night Light" by Charlie May appeared on Hernan Cattaneo's podcast, and been hammered by the man him self and Nick Warren in every corner of the globe.

Playing numerous music styles in a single set, being influenced by House and Funk without really having the chance to produce any, Kay released numerous House EPs under his real name Khalil Touihri. His efforts making his project a great deal of variety, earned him the support of, Deep House breaking through DJ back then, Adeline, who was constantly throwing his "My Love is Gone" in her Ibiza DJ Sets.

Introducing his favourite dark and melodic side again, Kay came up with "Words Of Wisdom" premiered by Hernan Cattaneo, and featured on Traum Schallplatten alongside Extrawelt, Minilogue, Dominik Eulberg, among others.

Kay collaborated with numerous talented producers around the planet, but he's also the founder of the duo Deus Ex, who's Techno rework of the classic arabic patrimony tune "Halfaouine" is worldwide acclaimed, and a 4 tracks EP on Be One Record, Superstar DJ Miguel Bastida's label as well.

He's an active part of the Kollektik collective which holds the best DJs in the local scene, has established a versatile Live Act with Karben from Kollektik studio, and the two partners are curently working on some exciting new stuff.

Khalil is a DJ Producer who you should keep an eye into, who is always workin hard in the studio, trying to provide the sound he thinks it defines him bestlike an Artist or most likely as a human being.

@Nowananda aka Eyal M. is a musician and Ecstatic Dance DJ.

He is influenced by growing up in Israel in a multi-cultural family, playing classical piano for 7 years, traveling and living in South-East Asia most of his adult life, as well as the study, practice and teaching of Tantra, Yoga, healing and body/energy work.

J’avais faim, les fruits du figuier n’étaient pas mûrs.

Frustré dans ma gourmandise, j’ai laissé mon désir se transformer en colère.
La gourmandise est pourtant une très belle chose, il suffisait de la garder intacte, il suffisait de la garder intacte, de se dire que d’ici un ou deux mois, je pourrais la combler.
Je m’en étais vraiment pris à un innocent.
Me recueillir auprès de cet arbre, l’embrasser, lui demander pardon, et retrouver la paix intérieure.
