Hymogwai by Shrumate consists of 2 originals Didinga and Hymogwai with stellar remixes by some amazing beings, please enjoy this cute mushroom trip :))
Dindinga is an EP that translates into an intimate need of normality through these lockdown vibes.
It consists in two tracks with two distinct dance floors in mind.
One for the body and the other one for the spirit.
The track “Dindinga” is a proper fire starter that combines an Afro groove with Synth-Pop and features a bunch of different elements like brazilian favela funk percussions along with some crazy cool synth and Marimba lines and also a finger lickin’ bass that turns everyone on.
The other track “Hymogwai” goes for a more spiritual approach with a slower tempo, a deeper bassline and more obscure and psychedelic elements. Nevertheless, it is still signing up for a dance floor pleasing

Our thoughts today are with our music friends and all other peaceful people in Ukraine and Russia. May this conflict end as soon as possible. War renders people unfree and is the enemy of all creativity. Peace.

As always we invite you to meet the human behind the music by asking them three questions, in this case answered by Jerome.

1) What is your favorite book to read? ->  It's not my favorite book, but it's one I feel compelled to share. It's "Solaris" by Stanislaw Lem. This book is a gem. It's metaphorical and profound about human thought and the beauty of the world. Some passages made me understand colors and senses that don't exist in everyday life, except maybe in a trip.

2) If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? -> The power I would like to have as a superhero is not needing to sleep. Sleep represents one-third of our life; not needing sleep would allow for more time for oneself, passions, and maximum partying.

3) What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? -> In relation to what was said before, I have already gone nearly 42 hours without sleeping. Why? Enthralled by the musical vibes and the excitement of a fantastic festival, there's simply no need for sleep. Those are the best moments of our lives.

Welcome to my special storytellers' mix series, called "Ancient Hearts", which tells stories from many cultures, invoking the heart and soul of our ancestors, which are rooted in the ancient melancholic sound, which speak of the great suffering in life, BUT also arrive, in the end, at a home full of love and life and joy.

Through exploring the sound of various cultures, we begin to see the same spirit, message, and meaning among the people. We must travel through our sorrow to truly find joy. We must move in relationship with our ancestors' victory in suffering or lose our entire future and hope.

In Greek, "Spiti Mas" means "Our Home". I named this chapter of the Balkanika story because this energy will be even warmer and a great midtempo journey, getting us more freed up in our body, moving from deep in the heart outwardly through the body into community and family, thus why this is OUR HOME, not just my home...and home is where the heart is. Lets celebrate the miracle of love and life and family together!
