Helge Tømmervåg aka Mind over MIDI is a mysterious figure coming from the deep north of Europe, Norway. Residing in Kristianssund, Tømmervåg explored electronic msuic since his techno excursions in the late nineties to then land into the ambient/dub/experimental realms. Mind over MIDI has been a trustworthy beacon in the icey seas of Nordic electronic music.

Allow London based producer Fortresses to take you on a blissful journey through the clouds to ease you into the weekend. Fortresses is the Ambient project of London-based multidisciplinary artist Sam Ashton.

Sam describes the mix as “a selection of old, new, and as-yet unreleased pieces of Ambient music that are providing a lot of inspiration for my own work.

The mix includes contemporary takes on New Age aesthetic, grainy lo-fi loops enshrouded in tape hiss, and expansive  Dark Ambient atmospheres.”

In the last decade or so the shop has gradually established itself as a record label and publisher, and we're proud to be one of their distributors. 

Alongside these big names, Old Heaven documents the creative output of new and old locals working at the edges of experimental and 'traditional' music. Younger musicians like Deng Boyu and Lao Dan sit alongside dombra pioneer Mamer, and industrial groups like Puppet & IZ. New releases feature surprises, with some highlights of the mix coming from Joseeh Punmanlon, Daulet Halek and The Other Two Comrades.

A welcome return to our Balearic maestro, Rich-Ears, who keeps the dwindling connection I have with the white isle going strong all these years later. Now I’m on the other side of the world, I like to live vicariously through Rich-Ears' mixes, coming straight from the heart of Ibiza (the right side of the island I should add) as he enjoys summer life spinning his notorious samples and blends of downtempo, chill-out and ambient.

I've been a little slow these past few months on the site, so I must apologize to Rich-Ears for sitting on this one for so long, as he prepared it for the summer months and with ASIP’s ten-year anniversary in mind. Well, as the first day of the Autumnal Equinox, maybe there’s no better way to say goodbye to the summer…

Off Land is the ambient / electronic output of Boston musician, Tim Dwyer. His work's focus is emotive landscapes, and meditative spaces, influenced by widescreen soundtracks, and meditative music such as Javanese gamelan and minimal drone. This combination becomes a natural ebb and flow of sound, building and fading in layers.

Off Land has been performing live sets over the last 4 years, and has been releasing music since 2006 across numerous labels. Recent releases include the cassette 'Resonance' on No Problema and the cd 'On Earth' on Stasis Recordings
