For the first Deep Mind Music of 2023, I am delighted to welcome garçon, one of the brains behind the impeccable amenthia label, a dynamic and highly-inspiring DJ, whose sets I always find special. After many years of mutual online mix-appreciation, we finally got to hang out in person last year, and it’s been so lovely to connect with a fellow deep-feeling DJ.

I love the way garçon weaves together sounds, rhythms and harmonies into compelling patchworks which transport the listener into whole new worlds. He has a very subtle way of putting together tracks, delicately contrasting soundscapes to bring out new shapes and motifs, lightly morphing the visual landscape around us.

garçon's mix for Deep Mind Music is a space for nocturnal daydreaming, a gentle dive into the ocean of the mind, going ever inwards in a swirling haze of thoughts. A poignant expression of emotion that perfectly captures the wistful energy of January 🕯️

The first half of the mix slowly coalesces out of gossamer veils of sound, each new layer melting into the next. In the second half, we gradually descend into deeper pools of emotion, detaching from reality and getting lost in the waves. By the end, we’re adrift in an intimate cerebral realm, a space for pensive imagining and unbounded feeling. The closing track by Donnacha Castello is one of those pieces of music which is at once an expression of the deepest sorrow, and the purest joy. Thank you garçon for this very moving entry 🕊️🤍☁️

Verveine ☉ Ouroboros Festival 2023

This summer, after working all the year imagining, preparing and designing our beloved Ouroboros festival, we had a special moment of relief on the Saturday morning, waking up with the ambient and dubby tones of Verveine, one of our members, and see that the first night as passed, everything finally went very well and it was continuing to flow till the next day. 

It’s hard to find the right words to describe the crazy vibes we experienced so we made sure to retranscrit with this podcasts a bit of it to transmit it. More coming !

Synthbiont & Anassimandrus (@synthbiontanassimandrus)  is the ambient/experimental project born at the end of 2018 by the collaboration between Nicolò Faggiani and Tommaso Gobbo. Their musical background comes from different musical experiences as DJs, vinyl collectors, and Electronic Music Culture (@electronicmusicculture303) podcast series founders. Making converge their love for electronic sounds, field recording, and meditative experiences, Nicolò (@nic_faggiani) and Tommaso (@tommasogobbo) shaped Synthbiont & Anassimandrus project around researching the deepest ambient atmospheres.  The core idea is to create musical journeys in which the listener can enjoy an immersive and emotional experience in a unique soundscape. Recently releasing their first album on Secuencias Temporales, they also performed in several events and festivals such as Ozora, MoDem k, and Paradigm Festival.

I7HVN [ish-an], a multimedia artist hailing from Bangalore, India, boasts a captivating oeuvre that interweaves musical and visual elements to create a mesmerizing narrative. 

Starting in 2013 and evolving into a vivid storytelling experience in 2021, the project's sonic palette finds inspiration in the surreal and otherworldly realms of fantasy literature. 

I7HVN predominantly delves in the realms of Techno, Electro & IDM
but contrastingly has also invited Electronica & Ambient music in his Catalog. 

He’s been featured numerous times on esteemed publications such as Mixmag Asia, TheWildCity, TIMD, Homegrown & more.

He Also debuted his Live-set in the year 2023 along with Satori by Vishal Unni & Caged experience by Chaz.

The 90 minute set consisted of no-nonsense textural heavy techno & broken beat rhythms infused with sharp
sequences & lush atmospheres.

In 2021, I7HVN founded the 'Safar' collective, a community of boundary- pushing artists who embrace experimentation as a means of self- expression. 

His left-field collective seeks to illuminate experimental art
and cultivate a self-sustaining ecosystem where like- minded artists can thrive.

I7HVN has garnered support from the likes of Vinicious Honorio, Truncate, TWR72, MTD, Raar Eric Cloutier, Casual Treatment, Audio Units, Juri Heidemann, Uvall & many more. He has also shared the stage with the
likes of Alarico, DJ Ladytazz, Stenny to name a few.
