Paige Julia - Quasar EP (DDD105) 

Hailing from New Zealand, Paige Julia "makes music for people who stay up late" . Her constant rise over the last few years has been hard to ignore. Performing shows and festivals all across NZ, winning the New Zealand Music Award for best Electronic Producer (the same award DDD label heads TRUTH won back in 2017) and generally crushing soundsystems. 

She has made a name for herself with weird, wonky, junglistic, UK and west coast US inspired sounds, with a multitude of appearances including a recent outing on 1985 music. The Quasar EP is her first fully Dubstep-inspired release and exemplifies her trademark heavy bass wonkiness across a diverse selection of tracks.

The new mix in our Road To Mission Ballroom series comes from two stalwarts of the Deep, Dark & Dangerous roster! Abstrakt Sonance was one of the very first artists signed to the label, appearing on Deep, Dark & Dangerous: Vol 1, and then his first EP "Fire Dance" coming in at DDD032 (for reference, we just released DDD132), since then he has released a full album on the label, and had multiple other appearances! 
Hypho first burst onto the label with his "Sufferin" EP in 2021, and has since continued to smash it, with multiple EP releases and features including a recent single "Slum" with Illaman!

Both artists have been crushing it on the touring circuit, and joined forces last year to release a downtempo EP with Megumi Hope... so we figured this would be the perfect combination for a b2b at Mission Ballroom on September 13th!
