TRUTH has always lived and breathed music that is deeper, darker and dangerouser but we could never have dreamed of where the imprint is at now, through pure passion for and dedication to sound system culture.

What started as monthly Monday night in a 100 person capacity San Francisco basement in 2012, leading to our first release in November 2014 - Deep, Dark & Dangerous takes huge pride in representing the best of dubstep, 140 and bass music in a catalogue approaching 140 releases.

This celebration compilation of DDD’s first decade as an imprint is all about looking forward.

Through an epic double album of original tracks, this is the cream of the crop - featuring our favourite big hitters and some of the hottest young talent in the underground.

Decade showcases the best of where we’re at but also what the future holds for the scene we call home.

The world’s complexity is a murky beast at the best of times, and seems to have got even murkier of late - yet with artists as talented as Canada’s finest Substance, music has the ability to enter a realm of reflection and contemplation - while simultaneously offering a place of escape and tranquillity. 

Marking DDD’s 150th release with aplomb, with his Smoke & Mirrors EP the producer showcases his uncanny ability to create complex sonic landscapes, textures and emotions, with a minimal and economical touch that stays true to the adage that less is more. 

Each beat, synth part and atmospheres is exquisitely selected, felt and impacted within the tune and creates a mood and vibe that is incredibly unique, fresh and yet feels classic. 

With Smoke & Mirrors we are witnessing dubstep at its very finest: deep, musical, mystical.

DDD is ecstatic to welcome Tennessee’s finest sub flexor Chief Kaya to the roster, with his weighty, wobbly and woozy debut two tracker: Burning Bush / Implicit.

Bringing classic UK dubstep flavours to the table with fresh execution, these tracks carry so much heat they quite literally caused a bassbin to be engulfed in flames - much like the classic biblical tale that is the inspiration. 

Burning Bush begins proceedings with its infectious synths, reverb drenched snare and low end wubs, before Implicit finishes the job with top tier wonk and intricate hihat patterns.

Serving as the perfect follow up from Decade’s Ethereal, prodigious UK talent Kali is back on the label with another slice of epic, fantastical, melodic dubstep goodness - all packaged with a heavy dose of reflection and emotional depth. 

Bliss showcases the producer’s ability to create music of gargantuan proportions, yet still feel unquestionably authentic, underground and dangerous makes him a unique proposition within the bass scene.

Coming at you like a sandstorm on an icy desert night, Sedona EP sees DDD bossmen Truth serve up four tracks as cold as they are menacing - with touches of sci-fi and psychedelics within the creative venn-diagram - as the duo link up extraterrestrials and earthlings via the power of bass wave frequencies.

Like the stunningly barren, mystical and UFO-magnetizing landscape that is its inspiration - Sedona lives in its own elevated audio plane, where bass savagery is met with existential sophistication and otherworldly atmospheres. 

Lead track Zoot stamps its authority as system heater of the year, with East London MC Eklipse letting rip over a groove so deep, it makes the Grand Canyon seem like your granny’s favourite creek. 

140 cuts Sedona and Frequencies showcase Truth’s customary production prowess in full flight - much like the flying saucers so regularly hunted in Sedona - before long time set favourite Nobody adds UKG flavours to complete the package.
