Our next guest features a unique talent from Prague, Roman Rai.

Biography

“No Borders Please. In Fact They Really Do Not Exist”.

This statement proves to be true for Roman Hořínek, better known under his dj/producer alias Roman Rai.

Roman’s musical path began at a turn of the century in Prague a cultural gem of Europe.

Having an ear for music and attention to small details, Roman has earned himself a name of an experienced and knowledgeable music producer and sound engineer.

Throughout the years, his creativity and energy would turn into musical ideas and compositions, which would captivate and mesmerize listeners.

Whether it is a work in a studio or behind the decks – Roman Rai does not confine to current trends in the industry. Nevertheless, he continues to constantly search for that spark that can turn any track (or a DJ set) into real emotion and energy-fuelled story.

This search eventually led Roman to establish a record label “Moving Pictures” together with his friend Täino in 2018. Shortly after, he released his second studio album “Middle of Nowhere” on the same label.

Since then Roman has been focusing on growing and shaping the sound of the label, as well as multiple personal collaboration projects.

In the past 20 years, Roman has left a meaningful trace on the local scene, as well as beyond it.

And there are still more stories to tell and borders to erase.

Ocean Lam has built and cultivated with drive her passion for music for over more than a decade. She has played at many major festivals and underground clubs in Asia, Epizode, Wonderfruit, Intro, Equation and Clockenflap, Sonar HK and in Germany Melt and Feel Festival. She was tapped to represent Hong Kong at its first live edition of Boiler Room at Shi Fu Miz festival. Played in Berlin since 2010 and around Europe as her annual tour playing with many international artists and label nights. Curated line up at the first Sonar HK dome stage of local and international guests.

The uncontested regional opener for heavyweight names like Efdemin, Oskar Offermann, Nick Hoppner, Sammy Dee and many more… As an music director and co-founder of Social Room club for 6 years and brought lots of artists from Europe to her Hypnotic events in Hong Kong. Ocean is also a producer of her own music, with releases “Auditory Touch” EP on @moteurvillemusique (#Detroit) with Eduardo De La Calle, Jay Tripwire remixes, “ The Same Boat” EP with Fresh Funky S on Berlin Biotop Label, collaborated release with Mr Ho (Klasse Wrecks) on Underradar Label (Indonesia), HK Typhoon8 Records and her most recent release on WAPM Records.
